Skip to comments.Al Sharpton Thanks Limbaugh For Playing Teleprompter Gaffe: ‘Keep Taking The Bait!’
Posted on 08/10/2011 6:19:25 PM PDT by Nachum
Al Sharpton isnt one to keep quiet when under attack, and tonight he responded in kind to the near-universal conservative guffaw his resist we much teleprompter gaffe received last night. Specifically, he responded to Rush Limbaugh, who suggested jokingly that the teleprompter was racist. Taking full responsibility for garbling the words, he thanked Limbaugh for bringing him viewers, telling him, I want to preach to your choir!
Sharpton seemed in good spirits about the gaffe, clarifying that, unlike Limbaughs conspiracies, theres no racist teleprompter and theres no black journalist trying to sabotage me I messed up a line! He took so much responsibility, noting that it happens to anyone who has ever hosted a show, including you, that he even gave away another gaffe he made tonight. There is no Environmental Projection Agency, he noted, requesting Limbaugh play that mistake, too. Play that tomorrow, because I want all of your listeners to start watching me, he argued. I dont want to preach to the choir I want to preach to your choir, Rush! He also addressed the conspiracies surrounding his hire: I dont deal with them because they make people watch.

Oh Al, I have been waiting all day to watch you. Lol.
Rush had me laughing today over this........can’t wait for the parody.
MSNBC deserves to have that RACIST Al Sharpton.....plus he’s as dumb and cagey as the ghetto provides.
Al, we need to clue you in... when Conservatives while watching you, we`re laughing AT you, not WITH you.
Al honestly thinks Rush’s audience is going to hurry over to watch his show? Really?
LOL, what a character. This guy passed buffoon status decades ago.
I don’t think I could sit and watch more than two minutes of his show. It tells you something about folks who can.
when Conservatives while watching you = when Conservatives watch you
Isn’t it amazing how far MSNBC will go over the line toward mental illness, pseudo treason, rather than provide a level headed news service to gain more market share.
And these folks think McCarthy had it all wrong.
Marxists are nowhere to be found in our MSM.
Well, I guess ripping the nation apart is worth it if you can get a 0.1% bump in market share. Look how it has paid off.
Would that be..."race bait"?
He is a Buffoon Emeritus.
Ah, the good ole days... ;^)
Uh, yeah, Al. That was “bait.”
I listened at work and laughed and laughed.
Hmmm, Al Gore, Al Franken, and Al Sharpton.
Note to expectant parents....
“Rev” Al...talk or read must?
Love my new tag line.....Thanks Al...
Well, good, then! Because every so often, Rush will play that "Baraq the Magic..." song with the Sharpton bullhorn. Got you choir right here...
Rearend Albert Sharpton, the only reason anyone of intelligence would watch you would either be to see an example of the depths to which the media has fallen or, as in this case, the sheer comedy value.
Actually, Rush predicted today that ole Al would contact him, thanking him for sending him some viewers.......LOL!
Ahhh... how sweet... Al finally got his 15 minutes of fame.
I'd rather hear soundbites of your stupidity on Rush.... then waste(however long)listening to you polluting the already repugnant airwaves emanating from BSNBC.
I won’t tune in and watch the greasy bastard!
Al probably wrote the lines in question.
Sharpton is a whore. He will ally himself with anyone who advances his wealth, power & fame. Right wing. Left wing. Satan. He doesn’t care. He is for sale to the highest bidder. His bread is usually best buttered by race-baiting so that is how he usually goes, but he would be to the right of the Tea Party if there was enough money and power in it for him. He is unscrupulous.
You have to check out the KFI.broadcast on iheartradio.com from 7-10 Pacific (640 AM) from LA. The Tim Conway Jr show. They have a regular segment called “What the HELL did Jesse Jackson say?” Great laughter therapy!
If I could, I’d like to ax Al Sharpton a question.
In your dreams, Sharpton. I can’t imagine idiots watching you much less Rush listeners.
Muchmouth. Hey, Hey, Hey.
What’s an “MSNBC”?
Ol’ Al. Crazy like a...well...just crazy.
Rush was saying today he’s doing Sharpton a big favor - he’ll bring up Sharpton’s ratings.
Sharpton obviously understands that’s a good thing.
Newsweak and Al Sharpton are doing what they do: talking about REAL successful people in order to get their own numbers above the curb.
Problem is this: they become one trick ponies in that sense. After Newsweak and Al do their little protestations and/or cover stories on attractive people, they get their 10 minutes of attention...and then people turn away.
The reason Limbaugh has gone from success to success is because he OFFERS SOMETHING SUBSTANTIAL. Sure, he has his laughs and parodies, but he also discusses the real differences on the issues and philosophies that separate Constitutionalists from those who want to enslave us to the tyranny of big government.
Limbaugh has a “there” there. Sharpton doesn’t; he has nothing but his same tired schtick that he has to share with Jesse and the NAALCP...and Newsweak is a dying element of a dying medium.
Hmmm... be interesting to see how Rush handles this.
Sharptoon is despicable and sleazy, but he has more than his share of low cunning.
This was well played.
Sharpton is smart. Any publicity ifs good publicity. Rush’s coattails are a good tug for Sharpton.
Other advertisers spend mucho dinero (a little Spanish lingo there) to get Rush to talk about them but he does it for free for rectums like Sharpton.
You guys. You just don’t get it. The right reverend was just channeling that other sage battler for truth. Yoda. Resist we much. Yes. And we will much. About that be committed. Hmm yes. No?
One day in galaxy far far away you conservatives will understand.
Al Sharpton is one of those rare, utterly ludicrous characters who doesn’t have to say ANYTHING to draw a laugh.
I’ll bet MSNBC is real happy that they gave Al Sharpton a show to quell the criticism about how “White” their on-air staff is/was.
Sharpton said, "Sometimes you have to nudge the donkey and sometimes you have to push the donkey and then sometimes you have to slap the donkey!
It's one of my all-time favorite political quotes. I loved it so much, I toyed with the idea of starting a SlapDaDonkey.com website.
You forgot Al (c)Hunt and Al Qaeda.
I’ve listened to Al Sharpton’s radio show when I was working in Atlanta.
100% of his callers were blaming whitey for keeping them down and, although he wasn’t actively encouraging them to do so, he did nothing to slow them or challenge them.
It is sad that there are so many self described victims out there who descended from slaves who were treated a thousand times worse, but didn’t complain even a fraction of what their descendents do.
What? You don’t like Hannity’s “good friend” and favorite guest? Well, I don’t know if he’s Hannity’s favorite but he sure has him on there a lot.
One of the reasons I don’t watch very much.
Yes, I agree that those slaves would be shocked to see what their ancestors have done with their freedom.
I don’t like to dwell on it, but I’ve never thought Hannity was the sharpest pencil in the box. He means well. I don’t think he’s a bad guy, but quite often he really doesn’t get it.
