I just noticed on Twitter and Facebook that the Left is calling for a US Day of Rage on September 17th.
The Twitter #s are: #USDOR, #occupywallstreet, #revolution
Facebook: Occupy Wall St. or US Day of Rage
They invite people to occupy Wall Street and DC and State Capitals.
Publius is Very Unhappy! Bring your tents! Wall Street belongs to us! Demand the the top 2% pay their fair share!
Lots of tweets but the Facebook pages are low volume.
In addition, there is a group of Muslim activists that are pushing this and in England for the rioters to overthrow the government.
My question to them would be: then what?
This facebook group has 3k members. May be worth paying attention to.
Oh darn! That is the day I have set aside to backwash my toothbrush....
Our ‘protectors’ can’t help - they’re all out looking for a lone wolf. Can’t be bothered with a call to thousands of liberals who want to riot like England...
Here are where some are hosting flyers. It looks like they may be targeting Wall Street and other spots in NYC.
Can’t afford a Day of Rage. I can give ‘em twenty minutes of a snippy snit later if the boss isn’t looking.
I was just on one of the sites, and there’s a poster for Word Revolution October 15, 2011.
They better stay in the cities where the police can protect them.
So this would be people from the anti gun crowd right? Somehow i’m not concerned.
Guess it’s superfluous to mention that September 17 is the 149th anniversary of the bloodiest day in US history.
Just what you’ve always wanted for your b-day; a bunch of hippies behaving badly.
Wonder how those lefties would feel about being outnumbered by counter-protesters?
Has anyone seen this? Days of Rage
Heh that’s some present.
Our cities might burn.
LOL no kidding.
There are only about 150 people in my little town and I doubt you could convince 10,000 of them to occupy it for very long.
Good, maybe they will try that London crap and get shot, this is America. The owners don’t have to stand by and watch their livelihood burned to the ground by rioters.
The right to arms is strong here and will only get stronger with this stupidity.
The ‘day of rage’ will be manned by a bunch of neo-hippies and muslim activists but of course, you know they’ll say it is the tea-party’s fault.
I’m filled with rage over these leftist b ds every day. And I intend to do something about them. Peaceful and legal, of course.
Automatic weapons are a sure cure for that sort of behavior!
I see the one on fb. It has 38 people who have joined it so far.
Wow, I checked out twitter, you’re right.
usdayofrage.org — I’m on their fb page right now. This was a website they have linked. I’m not going over there.
I’ll give you a day of rage you twits.
Come paint my house instead and I’ll feed you grill cheese sammiches.
Did you mean to say world revolution, or is there a particular word they are rebelling against?
I’ll just make sure I’m not in DC, NYC, or Boston on that day., ;o)
Just like the “Wall Street Shutdown” that Michael Lerner of SEIU “planned” for mid-May. Then it was postponed to the last week in May.
They advertised it as a takeover of JP Morgan Chase but by the time the thing finished fizzling, it ended up as a minor march aimed at annoying Michael Bloomberg.
Mass shutdowns, general strikes——not very popular here. Maybe someday but not now. Flash mobs in urban areas from time to time but not big, crippling riots.
Odd, that’s the same day I’ve set aside to test my reloaded ammo. Looks like I might get a chance to see how it works on soft tissue targets if this is the case.
Why would they be enraged at NYC liberals?
They ought to head to Texas.
Perfect day to occupy Wall Street. Saturday. Fools.
You are kidding. You drew that. Good job on the cartoon.
It’s a birthday celebration!
Can’t imagine what they hope to achieve with their “rage” that they haven’t achieved already - Washington is already far to the Left of both Moscow and Beijing.
If the top 2% were taxed at 100% how big a dent in the deficit would that make? Maybe buy us a couple of weeks or so?
You don't have anything to worry about anyway. These keyboard commando's may rage in their mother's basement, but that'll be about it.
Every few months these twits call for days of rage, but I assure you most of them remain comfortably at home playing PS3.
My calendar, Sept. 17: “Beat up a hippie day”
Isn’t that CONSTITUTION Day???
On May 8, 1970 Communists and other anti-American thugs prepared to riot in Lower Manhattan. New York construction workers decided to oppose them rather than allow them to riot like they did in Ohio a few days earlier.
Of course, Peter J. Brennan was president of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York, and president of the Building and Construction Trades Council of New York. Brennan was pro-American and stuck up for his men after they disbursed the rioters.
I doubt there are any pro-America labor leaders today. Certainly, there are none as pro-America as Mr. Brennan.
17 September this year is a Saturday. Think Wall St. gives a flying bleep about these turkeys rioting on a Saturday? Board up the big plate glass windows (not too many of those on Wall St. any longer, btw) and let the Marxists riot.
Now, if Wall St. were bold, which they aren't, they might consider hiring a few folks to, shall we say, sabotage the riots in assorted ways.
Word to your Muhthah! (or perhaps Microsoft Word)
#A99 (twitter feed)
We are a decentralized non-violent resistance movement
which seeks to restore the rule of law
and fight back against the organized criminal class.
No more truthful statment could have been made. So many of us have had simply all we're going to take. I am reaching the point of not caring about the consequences of bringing this craziness to a halt or at least shocking some of them.
If they had real balls, they would occupy 125th street.
Notice that the places they are calling for their “Day of Rage” are places where gun ownership is very low. Try that sh*t in Dallas or Nashville or Indianapolis and the rage would last until the bullets took the wind out of their sails.
