Please - The Congress will still have to vote on the recommendations.

Good lord.

Thanks for posting. Looks like CNBC is keying off an interview Rep. Camp did with Reuters:

"I don't want to rule anything in or out," Camp said. "I am willing to discuss all issues that might help us reduce our short and long-term debt and grow our economy," Camp said.

"Everything is on the table, until we as a group rule it out," he said. The economy and jobs are priorities, he added.

"Economic growth and job creation in the private sector -- that's what we need to use as a benchmark about any policy, but particularly tax policy," Camp said.

Even Pat Toomey says that he isn’t going to support “big” tax hikes, but seems to admit that some tax increases are going to happen.

The fix is in. The current political masters on both sides of the isle are taking America down. The Evil Party and the Stupid Party have joined hands.

Boehner caved. We held all the cards and could have stopped all this by freezing the spending at current levels. Oh, no. We "needed" a deal. Boehner and McConnell folded a royal flush to a pair of deuces and threw the Republic in.

Great job, Boehner!!!

Boehner works for Obama, period. All conservatives should be planning an all out campaign to defeat him. It would be better to vote for a Democrat over the Crybaby, we can afford to loose a House member, we cannot afford this weak, effete, Republican elite as the House "leader".

Now, Now, we musn’t critize West. We are too dumb to understand this great military mind. We must bow down to his outstanding service to our country, like McCain. We must understand we can’t want the perfect, only the “possible”. We can’t get EVERYTHING with just one small part of the government. Yadda,,,Yadda,,,Yadda.

When I heard the conditions of this panel, do nothing and cut the military, it was obvious the dems would do nothing, and blame the military cuts on the RINOS. But, I am not a great military mind, ready to cary a can of gasoline through a burning fire.

Republicans: Do what the Democrats do. Recommend

Targeted Revenue enhancements

I suggest that Republicans say "OK, we favor increasing revenues to reduce the debt. We propose targeted revenue enhancements. We will draft our "Fair Revenue Enhancement to Reduce the Debt Act" which taxes at a modest 45% (forty five percent) of the assets of such businesses and groups as:

Who can deny that members of the above are:

Targeted Revenue enhancements

Targeted Revenue enhancements

Targeted Revenue enhancements

For God's sake Republicans figure it out, just once!

But that’s ok, because tax increases would just be the final nail in the coffin of the economy and completely doom Obama.

IT will also signal the REAL RISE of the Tea Party.

YOU do know that if they vote NO on this committee's findings... that medicare and the Military both will see 40% across the board cuts to pay for their ceiling rise and the faux cuts lied about in this bill. This bill was LEGISLATIVE ABORTION.

You know, there is one (AND ONLY ONE) tax increase I could honestly support, and that is that EVERYONE who files a Federal tax return pay something, even if it’s only 1%. This 40+% of filers who don’t pay anything are going to be the death of the Republic yet (parasite class growing).

"Cash for clunkers is working, and we need it to keep working," said Rep. Dave Camp, a Midland Republican who represents Saginaw Township and other parts of Saginaw County.

wow I’m so not shocked.

This committee is complete waste of time.

We know what they’re going to say: raise taxes, cut the military, spend more on social programs.
