Rick Perry says he is definitely running
UPI ^ | 8-11-11

While Texas Gov. Rick Perry has made no formal announcement, he told Time magazine in an interview he wants to run for president.

"I mean I wouldn't be this far into the process. … The issue of, 'is this what I want to do?' was dealt with about 45 days ago in a conversation with my wife," Perry said. "Prior to that, no.

Being the president of the United States was not on my radar screen from the standpoint of something I wanted to do."

Perry added he has a "calmness" in his heart about running.

The FoxNews Republican debate is tonight.

Will Perry show up for it?

A “calmness in his heart “ about running? Oh no, not again.

Hey, if thiss guy gets the nod, I’ll vote for him, but i won’t be jumping up down with excitement.

His voice sounds like GWB.

From a purely mercenary point of view, if Perry picks Allen West or Herman Cain as his VP, then the election is won.

My (limited) insight into the black community is that they are afraid that Obama has ruined the chance for any black to ever be elected to national office again. With Cain or West running, they can either stay home knowing that one of their own is in the inner circle and that political philosophy is more important than race.

If I were just picking out of all possible candidates, Perry would not be my first choice. But if he jumps ahead of Romney, I am all in.

He is an AGGIE. That is worst part of Perry. I will get my Gun’s Up and vote for him even though he hates Texas Tech.

Rick Perry is a leader ... That's why I am supporting Governor Rick Perry for re-election. He does what is right regardless of whether it is popular. He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks to his guns – and you know how I feel about guns!

Great! then he can move the Mexican border up to the Oklahoma line and make a 20 lane express entrance for the mexican trucks and illegals along the revamped eminent domain claimed Trans Texas Corridor (perry’s brain child) all the way to the KC super terminal

Think I’ll wait for Palin...

Thanks anyway.

Perry is IN!! and Palin and is not going to run = Romney is toast!

Step 1 destroy Romney in 2011, step 2 destroy Obama in 2012

Woot!

GO PERRY!

What would be REALLY amazing is if he picked Palin for VP!

Hey, what do I know? I am a nobody in the political process and I’m not in the media. There are some truly knowledgeable people here in FR, I am not one of them.

I’m just posting my gut feeling here, that I think Palin thinks that the best way to help get rid of the commies who are now OCCUPYING the WH is for her to endorse Perry early.

And I just had a thought:

What’s the best road to the WH for Sarah Palin? Is it for her to run herself in 2012? Maybe. Maybe it is. And if she announces I will absolutely drop my support for Rick Perry and join her team, literally and figuratively.

But maybe that’s NOT the best road for her. Maybe the BEST road for her is to be VP for 8 years, in a Perry administration.

In 2020 Sarah Palin will be 56 years old and will have completed two terms as VP.

Not a bad resume for one so dearly loved by so many.

Eight years of Rick Perry followed by eight years of Sarah Palin... not the perfect world (which would be President Palin sworn in to office on Jan 20, 2013)... but I could live with that.

I always liked Santorum. Wish he were doing better in the polls. Glad Perry is finally getting in.
