MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — A 17-year-old student charged with first-degree murder in the slaying of a Christian school principal told investigators he had planned to stab the woman on the third day of classes, when he knew he'd be alone with her in a classroom, police said Thursday.
Eduardo Marmolejo was held without bond and ordered to undergo a mental evaluation by a Juvenile Court judge during a hearing Thursday. State law allows police to release the names of juveniles charged with first-degree murder.

I never understood the need for a mental evaluation. No one that murders is normal or is thinking rationally. What are they thinking they will find?
According to that reasoning, all murderers should have a mental evaluation.
Or are you saying they all should just be declared mentally off?

In any case, given the yawning cultural chasm between America and the pest holes to the south of us which are masquerading as ‘nations’, I am not in the least surprised that ‘ButcherBoy’ was from south of the border.
This morning I was told that the boy and his older sister were born in the United States. I can’t say whether or not his parents are legal. In the past I have asked some people who know them better than I do and each time I have been told they are here legally. I wouldn’t bank on it, but that’s what some Memphians who are close to them believe. I suspect that soon enough that question will be answered publicly.
What immigration problem? Let Eduardo go! He is a prime candidate for the Obama/Durbin Dream Act.
Well, if he is determined to be mentally incapable, I suggest he undergo electro shock treatments. I think Old Sparky was retired a few years ago and would be easily tranportable to Tenn. For a constant stream of electric current, I suggest they run a direct line from one of the TVA dams.

No. I’m saying they should all have their necks stretched. Their is no mental issue that can’t be cured by a long drop from a short rope. I believe the Bible: and God ordained the death penalty.
Because as juvy’s they have to according to laws in most states. just dotting I’s and crossing T’s. And hoping that the eval will come out that he is nuts, so they can get off with a few years in a mental hospital...at our expense. Housing them as juvy’s cost twice as much as adults, and TN has only about 200 juvy beds.
We truly need to revise these laws to read guilty by reason of insanity, ‘cure’ the insanity, and then incarcerate them for their sentence. Would put a stop to a lot of this Hinkley BS.
The whole premise of using “insanity” as a defense is insane. It needs to go away. No one in their right mind commits murder: they are evil, that’s why they do it.
I found it interesting in the Gifford’s shooting, that Jared Lee Loughner was found “unable to stand trial” because of him being diagnosed for schizophrenia; this coming after he demonstrated before and during the shooting, that he knew the difference between right and wrong. Why would someone say “I hope I make it out alive”, if you didn’t know you were up to evil? Why would someone employ some degree of stealth to get close to a target?
The whole insanity defense is insane.
This case will be an example for the ending of the “anchor baby” legal circus,IMHO.
On Thursday, his parents had a court-appointed Spanish translator during the hearing.
The killer is a spawn of illegal aliens!
