Song from 1952..."I'm no Communist" by LuLu Belle and Scotty. Somehow still very relevant in 2011...(Barack Obama's America).
KEYWORDS: communism; economics; music; truman
Really struck me when they say If we don't get a hold of our debt the communists might win without firing a shot!

(Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress.. But then I repeat myself. MT)
Carson Robison and Grandpa Jones also recorded this tune, but I have always preferred the Lulu Belle & Scotty version. Except for the reference to Stalin, the Congressional investigations of Soviet espionage, and the Truman scandals ("taking bribes and dressing up their wives in mink"), the song sounds as though it could have been recorded this afternoon.
Lulu Belle & Scotty also recorded That Crazy War, an anti-World War II song, which was issued on the Okeh label in 1941.
