I adore Palin but you have a point...they take the fun away...most meanspirited folks I’ve seen here since Amnesty Wars or Schiavo

what will happen here should Romney get the nomination?

Pretty much the same thing that happened when McCain got the nomination. Sadness. Anger. Resignation. Mild enthusiams generated only by anyone but Obama sentiment.

Of course this time, there will be one massive difference. Assuming our candidate is not considered radioactive by the right or the middle, it'll be a reasonably easy win. Which means we'd actually be stuck with Romney as President.

Ok, don’t quote me here.. I have never reloaded myself.. I just shoot the cartridges they give me (or I buy)..

I believe the Colt .45 relied on black powder (the .44 and 45 are almost the same size)... but the .44 is much higher pressure from smokeless powder.. The higher pressure is what gives the .44 more power, but .45 and .44 have the same mass as a bullet. (like the .38 and the .357 ... or the .38 compared to the 9mm)
Like I said, I have never personally fired a .44 ... but I DO know it has more punch (power)than the .45..... I also have NO clue about the .41 ... never even seen one..

posters on this thread including the originator have been zapped for saying they would vote for Romney as last resort as Anybody But Obama...which is what 100s of news outlets are claiming Palin said too...

so what will happen here....

if the forum is true to it’s guns then it won’t be like last time...they will either close or go third party...which will ensure Obama wins but the point will have been made

or it will be the biggest FR 180 in a series of a few 180s over the years

I hope it doesn’t come to that.

My question is how are the folks who make the zot decisions here going to react over Perry who actually is about to enter the race and who does have a lot of support here

I know that Palin or Bachmann whom I like either one and Cain are accepted here but don’t know about the view on Perry

Politics 101....fight like hell to get what you want during the primaries....once its decided ...all schisms heal and forces join behind the winner ....I have no idea if Romney will get it and Im certainly not fighting for him ...but IF he gets it I will support him and I will not stay home

Palin will do the same whether in the race or not ....and yes Palin gets my full support now or later

I honestly don’t think that Romney will survive the primaries. I said earlier that he has gotten nothing but softballs and he has never EVER been pushed hard to account for his flips and Romneycare.

As soon as that happens, he’s done. Whether it’s the press (doubtful) or one of the Repub candidates, it’s gonna happen. Romneycare is his exposed throat and there are a couple candidates with plenty of huevos to bite it.

Whether Palin gets in or not (I think she will of course), somebody takes him out of the running and the GOP will not be able to save him. Hell McCain took him out last time and he’s done nothing of note since.

Bottom line, I really think we are FAR too worried about him. Without the media telling people how great he is, he is just as empty a suit as Obama. And the above quickly ends his only advantage IMO FWIW.

Then Zot them all, and let God sort them out. ;-)

End of the day, this is Jim's house and his rules. Jim personally racked the shotgun at me once for speculating that Palin might pick Romney as VP to leverage his cash intake, to counteract the billion dollar Obama campaign. In retrospect, I phrased that post badly and walked it back. While I felt it was a little harsh of a response to a hypothetical point, I've also been a lurker since early 97, so I know the drill. Jim doesn't want his house used as a billboard for things he doesn't agree with, and if you don't like it, the door is to the left. (as it were)

I'm an intelligence analyst by training, but I realize that what I consider as "wargaming out bad scenarios based off of a given situation", other people can interpret as "trying to advocate bad things." It's also fair to point out that lots of people are in fact trying to pull the seminar caller routine and the red flags that go up are usually warranted.

Anyway, to the issue at hand, I think Romney is without question the wrong man for the Presidency, but we can't pretend he doesn't exist. He's out there, with lots of cash, and he might not go away. I certainly understand that the management doesn't want to do anything that might lend aid or comfort to the RINOcracy, and in some cases, you need to shut down certain things pretty hard. My inner Machiavelli concurs that when you're running a website designed to drive power to the right, sometimes appearances and unity matter more than context or debate.

Thanks for the heads up on the zot fest, I wandered in late to an apparently bloody mess of a thread. As an epic understatement, this isn't an issue I care to fall on the sword for.

Read (pronounced red) the whole thread. Eyes hurt. Even my hair hurts. And all the way through, you don’t get it?
ejdrapes posted an article that was INTENDED to start a flame war. KNOWING the title was misleading and that the premise was dishonest. Key word here is INTENT. Then to show how excruciatingly and blindingly brilliant he is, he ADMITTED it at Post #50...

“To: gov_bean_ counter
OK I’ll admit a little pot stirring here. Of course we know Palin KADs have never done that on FR before. ;-)”

Then he continued to partner up with the other resident PDSers...until Jim said NO.

Let me simplify. He made this post with the specific intent to START a flamewar. On FR that is NOT a good thing.

Norm brought it to Jim’s attention. others on this thread have said they would vote for romney in the context of ABO. A couple have even taunted Jim themselves. And they are ALL still here. Including you.
Or were you being deliberately obtuse?

Anyone keeping a list of the hardcore PDSers? would be interesting to see if I missed any :p

Late to the thread here. Please indulge me with

1. Define PDS
2. Is there a difference in hardcore as opposed to softcore?

tso’s posted two responses to the same post and seemed to be trying to make it look like I wrongly attributed a comment to him.

When confronted with the facts, he went to ground. Oddly enough, others suddenly popped up and went on the attack and tso remained silent.

Curioser and curioser...
