DO you know what happened 161 years ago this fall... Back in 1850?

California became a state.
The people had no electricity.
The state had no money.
Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gunfights in the streets.

So basically nothing has changed except then the women had real tits and the men didn’t hold hands.

The chart should use inflation-adjusted dollars. The purchasing power of our fiat money has depreciated about 15x since 1960 alone and much more than that over the span of the chart.

Funny how there can be a “surplus” at all when the debt hasn’t stopped rising since 1962.....

Yeah, I second that. Until the debt is paid off and we have funds in “surplus”, the whole surplus thing is hogwash. That is one thing that troubled me about Clinton and the Democrats bragging about a surplus.

1). I don’t believe their cooked book numbers.
2). Our nation was still in debt.
3). The Republican congress forced the more balanced spending of the 90’s. WTH happened to them in 2000 when they got a RINO president? It is like the kids got hold of the credit cards.
4). If the Dems love Clinton’s budget so much, then lets go back to it. That would be about a 70% cut in federal spending, but I am good with that.

Thanks for posting. It’s hard to see the poison-pills socialists planted many years ago, but their parasites are coming home to roost now. Long March BUMP!

if one picture is worth 1000 words, then this one would be worth about 10,000,000 of Obamas words

The last actual surplus was in 1957 under Eisenhower. Clinton never had a surplus - the national debt increased every year during the Clinton Administration.

Speaking of poison pills, I got this in my email this morning.
SAD NEWS OUT OF NEW ORLEANS

It seems that every couple of days New Orleans loses one of its treasured ENTREPRENEURS.

Lets get the players straight before we go on with this.

LARMONDO "FLAIR" ALLEN

His Companion: Kawanner Armstrong

His Sons: Christian Allen
Kwan Allen
Larmondo Allen, Jr.

His Daughters: Deidra Allen
Larmenshell Allen
Lamonshea Allen
Larmomdriel Allen
Larmerja Allen
Korevell Allen

AT AGE 25 - He had 9 Children

(Could Kawanner Armstrong Possibly Be The Mother Of All Of His Kids?)

His Father: Burnell Thompson
His Mother: Esther Allen
His Stepfather: Bruce Gordy

His Brothers: Burnell Thompson
Edgar Thompson

Wil Willis Danta Edwards
Reshe Edwards
Mattnell Allen
Burnell Allen
Lester Allen

His Sisters: Shannail Craig
Lekiksha Thompson
Gwendolyn Carter
Jessica Willis
Katina Gordy

Grandparents: Delors Allen
J.C. Allen
Anna Laura Thompson
Will Thompson

So, lets see now:

His Father, Burnell Thompson, fathered his brothers Burnell, Edgar and his sister Lekiksha.

His Stepfather, Bruce Gordy, fathered his Sister Katina.

His Mother, Esther Allen, must have been unwed when she gave birth to: Larmondo, Mattnell, Burnell and Lester.

We don't know who fathered Wil Willis and Jessica Willis, or Dante and Reshe Edwards.

Lets hope sisters Shannail Craig and Gwendolyn Carter are married.

GOT THE ABOVE ALL STRAIGHT? ********************

NOW, THE REST OF THE STORY He's 25 and has 3 sons and 6 daughters NINE welfare recipients collecting $1500 each..... That equals $13,500 a month !!! Now add food stamps, Free medical, free school lunches, on and on and on AND ON.

Do the math, that's $162,000 + a year. Anyone out there, sittin' on their butt while reading this e-mail, making that kind of money? Now that, to me, is a real Entrepreneur.

(AND BECAUSE OF THEIR FATHERS DEATH, ALL OF THE KIDS WILL PROBABLY COLLECT SOCIAL SECURITY UNTIL THEY ARE 18)

And people wonder what is wrong with our country.

Charlie...

“the surplus years were due to ronald reagan and the benefits of computers,

Actually, there were a lot of accounting ‘tricks’ introduced during clintoons time that make his numbers look better than they actually were.

Kind of like his “ending welfare as we know it” - which was totally trick accounting.

And the deficits after Clinton have as much to do with this as anything.

A large part of the dip during the Bush years could’ve been avoided if we’d made Iraq pay war reparations, but the libs and rinos decided to embark on nation building at US tax payer expense.

You see the surplus begin when the Republicans took over Congress in 94, which was to be expected. All the elements were there, but spending control, and lower tax strain on producers. That was added, somewhat. The real problem is that government has grown too big to work with the laws of economic gravity. It is crushing itself, and everyone with it, like the fifty foot tall man who is too big to live on earth. Either the path of big government gets reversed, or we don’t come out of this decline.
