San Antonio activists will be among protesters in front of the Lincoln Memorial on Sept. 15 for a national Grito de Dolores.
Instead of marking Mexican independence, however, they will call for immigrant human rights in the face of state-led initiatives they view as draconian and discriminatory.
Co-organizer Jaime Martinez, head of the César E. Chávez Legacy and Educational Foundation in San Antonio, said the march, led by a group called Viva El Pueblo Latino, will advocate for comprehensive immigration reform, family unification and passage of the DREAM Act.
As Mexican President Felipe Calderón delivers the traditional Grito de Dolores in Mexico City at midnight Sept. 15, marchers in Washington will showcase Viva El Pueblo Latino's human rights agenda, founder Dr. Eduardo Ibarra said.

Rick Perry’s version of the DREAM Act doesn’t suit them. This is what happens when you cozy up to a demographic of blood suckers for political gain, Rick just as Bush did in 2000/2004 and McCain in 2008. That’s not conservative leadership. That’s hispandering.

Interesting story. Not only is Martinez a fraud and a poltroon, but this "Legacy and Educational Foundation" is a crock, too. People forget that Cesar Chavez worked to get illegals deported, because illegals depress the wage scale for the lowest-paid workers in America.
Any doubters out there? You could look it up.
I used to work for the United Farm Workers. Yes. And I witnessed its rapid decline from a genuine and needed up-from-slavery type movement, to what it is now: a front for left-wing lobbying (abortion, gays, illegal immigrants, name it: and name your price) plus personal income-enhancement for Cesar Chavez' children and grandchildren and chosen lackeys like Jaime Martinez.

And activists got dolores street changed to ‘Cesar Chavez Blvd’. I think, against the will of the people of San antonio.
I think city hall in SA is run by extreme left-wingers and gay activists.
If Madison were alive today, he would have to once again summize that liberty is a fragile and fleeting condition that requires constant vigilance over. Tryanny has come full circle from his time to now.
