The man the police shot was nominally black-I say that because he had white relatives, supposedly. Anyway, rioters are mostly bored young males looking for some excitement, and as things break down, others join in, knowing that the police can’t stop them.
About two weeks ago, I picked up the, "Vista 2012 antivirus" virus when I clicked a link posted at F.R. to dailymail.co.uk. I've since removed it but it was a big pain in the rear.

He's absolutely right.
Bringing it back to England, I can remember watching episodes of "The Young Ones" on MTV in the '80s. The four roommates frequently complained about how bored they were. Maybe boredom is a uniquely English condition.

At the start, the rioters were mainly black (afro-carribeans), but after the first day a lot of white chavs joimed in too as they could see a good opportunity for looting.
They were most certainly NOT overwhelmingly muslim. Three muslim guys, defending the shops and homes of their community were run over and killed by black guys in a high-speed hit and run incident.
Basically, this was not a 'muslim' problem, but a black and white underclass one.
