More votes for Perry than Palin in Iowa Straw Poll

Posted on 08/13/2011 5:35:56 PM PDT by Minus_The_Bear

Rick Perry who just announced his candidacy received more votes than Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich.

How much longer can Palin just drive around the country not doing much of anything and still expect to run for POTUS?

A potential candidate without the organization to even manage 100 write in votes looks really really bad.

Write-in votes: Perry 718, Palin less than 35.

Reality is about to hit you in the head like an 18-pound sledgehammer.

Organize4Palin is collection of 10 or so blospot sites. They don't even have a forum.

They will get rolled.

You’re gonna get flamed big time for using “100 right in votes”. More nit picking going on than the cotten picking my parents did.

He not only got more votes than she did, he got at least 20 times more votes.

What part of ‘straw polls don’t matter’ do you not understand? They’re as accurate as an internet poll!

And Bachmann, Paul, Pawlenty, Santorum and Cain outscored Perry. What’s your point?

I don’t believe so either...

Then why spend the time posting an empty vanity about it?

I’m not for Perry.

That wasn't directed at you - it was a comment about Perry's attitude toward illegals.

It went to you because you posted the article.

Given the ready made organization and the fact that she claims Iowa as her birth state, she probably should have done better.

A win is a win, no matter the margin.

Would you like to comment why your candidate was buried by Rick Perry in the write-in portion of the contest?

Sarah said yesterday that she will let everyone know her intentions next month. I heard it straight from her mouth. She will be back in Iowa Labor Day weekend. You are greatly misinformed about her base and organization. We are here. We are waiting for her to announce. Bachmann is a Palin placeholder for many voters at this time. Even Bachmann’s Iowa phone polls are asking if we will switch support from Bachmann to Palin if she enters the race. I told her that, yes, I would.

Hmmm. I don’t know wth you are, but Joe Trippi who has been on the ground in Iowa said if Governor Palin had been in the straw poll she would have won running away.

He also declared today. Palin didn’t. I’ll be worried when they’re all in the race and she gets 100 votes. Until then, you keep living your dream with Jimmy Rick.

Because mindless Palinbots seem to think that you can just win a Presidential election without any work.

This type of thinking lost us 2008.

You actually have to work for things in life. They don't just happen. You have to plan and prepare.

Then you should be celebrating! Palin is obviously not a factor, a washout, a has been. So why get your panties in such a bunch? Obviously she is such a stupid loser, why even you are smarter than she is about politics. I guarantee you have more money, more grass roots supporters than Palin dos, and you are smarter, so you should run!
Lordy lordy, for such an obvious loser, Palin sure gets some people in a frothing mental attack.

I was glad Rick Santorum did so well. He’s the surprise of the straw poll. Bachmann and Pawlenty are locals and should have done well. Paul has a core of loonies backing him. But Santorum is a virtual unknown from Pennsylvania and he did better than Romney or Gingrich or Huntsman or Cain, all of whom have gotten more attention from the media than Santorum. He’s got a good message; he’s an attractive guy with a terrific smile; he’s extremely well-informed; and he has a real record of accomplishment in the Senate. And he’s a conviction politician who worked his heart out traveling to every county in Iowa. He deserved to do well. Maybe he’ll start getting the attention he should have and the reporters will forget Gingrich, Huntsman, Cain, and the rest. I wish Ron Paul would take a hike; he’s cluttering up the race and he has no chance to win.

Since you were there and voted can you tell me, were you allowed to write in non candidates?
