It’s not encouraging when
an article on an engineering breakthrough
gets their units wrong...
Or the NASA probe that splattered all over the surface of Mars?
Both the result of the wrong UOMs being used.
But... but it was only off by a factor of a thousand! :)
I did a google search and it’s amazing how many sites regurgitate that number without the slightest questioning.
Any claims on the internet must be taken with a ton of salt! (followed by an hour or two of independent research).
M means thousand, sometimes.
It’s archaic and confusing though.
