SAN ANGELO, Texas Mary Harris didn't want to talk about her experience as a juror when she got home.
Her husband, Dan Harris, said that when she returned after the 13-day trial of Warren Jeffs, she didn't say a word about it.
"She was out in the garden all day," he said. Nor did her daughter Nina Reid hear much about the jury experience, other than her mother saying "if she had a trash can she would've thrown up in it," Reid said.
Mary Harris said she is happy to have the trial done with.
Meting out the maximum sentence to Jeffs, she said, came easily to her and her peers after hearing days of testimony and evidence about group sex with underage girls, taking 12-year-old brides, and hearing the audio recording of ritual rape by the leader and spiritual head of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
"I didn't feel like he was a man of God at all," Mary Harris said.

As most of us here suspected...
And proof (if anyone needed it) that Texas juries are far more sensible than those in some of the other states that have allowed this cult to flourish over the years.

A little bit is coming out about the jury now. This lady is impressive.

(Apparently, there's no honor when it comes to someone else's retirement funds.)
I can only imagine that working in her garden had given her mind some time to clear itself. I can’t imagine having to listen to testimony... hearing the tapes when that child was held down and raped. I respect most jury members who do their civic duty and force themselves to listen to testimony that will probably haunt them the rest of their lives. IMHO
I hope they look into the families to make sure the children belong to each woman. I think those women need to learn how to be protective mothers. Maybe some parenting classes. Or maybe the ones who gave their 12 yr old daughters over to that POS need jail time. I am not buying the brain washing bs anymore. Not after seeing the one wife riding a Harley. I think its a twisted perverted cult.

((You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you.))
The hardest part of the trial was hearing the audio, she said, and hearing the tiny voices of girls responding to Jeffs as he asked questions of them and gave them explicit sexual instruction.
Jeffs is such a dirtbag. Hope he hates being treated like one in prison.

My heart often went out to those jurors. Watching twitter and reading updates from other boards - plus FR I also felt sick. The difference was I could shut it down and take a break. They couldn't.
The Salt Lake Trib has put the tapes up. So far I haven't heard a clamor of people wanting to listen or discuss them.

I’ve been too busy to post, but have tried to keep up with these threads. You’ve done a great job, Miz. Thanks for your efforts.
