If the dividing line between Republicans and Democrats is that Democrats want, in some sense, to direct America from Washington, Republicans believe the United States should not be directed, and should instead be managed as close to the citizenry as possible.
Most people outside Texas know very little about Perry, but given his standing as a kind of amalgam of George W. Bush and Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee, he may soon occupy an unprecedented position in the imagination of liberals and the Left—perhaps the most frightening specter of anti-liberalism since Ronald Reagan precisely because he is electable. The media is mostly made up of partisan shill organizations and individuals working for the Demwits; they felt the sting of the 2010 referendum at least as deeply as the Demwit officeholders did. In 2012 the voters will reject both even more.

Even NumbersUsa, who gave most of the candidates a really bad report card (Perry D-, Palin D), ranked Perry as GOOD on the subject of border security.
What do you mean? You personally have delivered 10% of Palin’s flack to Perry, but unlike Palin, he’s still standing and will never quit on us.
Well at least your objection is reasonable, and the first reasonable objection I’ve heard about Perry since he announced.

But,I don’t think we will hear that.
There are three issues which I cannot compromise on.
Gun control, abortion, and immigration.
I like Perry but if he is wrong on any of these issues I cannot support him.
I fully expect the markets to make short work of both Medicare and Social Security at this point. when Bernanke is thru...a typical SS check won’t buy mouse food...and the medicare “benefit” will pay for the Kervorkian Konsult.

I want to see people leaving Washington DC by the 10’s of thousands looking elsewhere for productive work.

Perry = Obama on illegal immigration. Like Obama, when Perry says “Enforcement” he means “deporting only those who commit serious felonies”. Texas is a magnet for illegals because Perry gives them college tution and welfare.

Perry is hiding behind Obama. All the RINO and Democratic governors pretend that they want to enforce the immigation laws. That allows governors like Perry to leave their borders wide open and say “It’s not my problem — it’s the Federal government’s job”.
