Let me hasten to make it clear before the Secret Service kicks the door in: we're not speaking of the three-dimensional, physical Obama, but the image of Obama created by the DNC, the media, and assorted political mercenaries to sell him and his agenda to an unsuspecting nation. We need to rid ourselves of Obama as an influence, as an example, as a lens through which to view the world, as a figure to look up to, admire, or emulate in any sense.
Simply put, there must be no "Obama legacy." Obama the man is avidly digging himself deeper into his own personal hole and will soon vanish into the depths of the earth. It is Obama the legend that must be buried.

The more "successful" he is, in the sense of actually putting his policies in place, the more clearly he reveals the emptiness of that bastard combination of socialism, Marxism, fascism, and Progressivism that goes under the name "liberalism." Of course, a little reworking is required in order to make the narrative fit the circumstances. FDR was lucky enough to have WWII, which made it appear that his policies had in fact worked. For a half century and more the myth that Roosevelt's policies ended the Depression and saved the country were taken as a given on all levels, and still prevails among the offhandedly educated. Only in recent years has the story of the false recovery generated by deficit spending followed by the collapse of 1937 and the ensuing double-dip been excavated. (Does this sound familiar?) The war saved FDR, and also saved the myth of American liberalism...

Seriously, Hoovers policies were bringing the Country out of the Depression.. People bought the welfare mentality FDR was selling. He KNEW full well his policies would exacerbate the Depression and send everyone back to the bread lines. The War created a perfect oportunity to get the roots of the welfare state growing.
The biggest danger to the freedomsd of America is the Obamacare nightmare. If that is not repealed, Americans can kiss their freedoms goodby.

Well, 12 million returning servicemen certainly solved that. 1948 was about as happy a year as 2010 for most Americans.

Voters vote based on:
1. name recognition
2. appearance
3. a gut feeling
The candidates character, their education, experience, positions on issues don't play a very significant role in how people vote.
Obama has the support of Hollywood and other arts; the majority of the news media ~85%; he is backed financially and will bring in unprecedented amounts of money for his campaign; he's unscrupulous; will get the vote by many non racist open minded voters that will support him no matter what because of his race; he knows the fine art of pandering and is a good political tactician, maneuvering well; his skills at oration and demeanor in public forum is outstanding; his physical appearance is youthful, energetic and he meets the GQ standard (thin, big white teeth, nice suits, clean shaven, neat hair etc); his wife is an asset; he has the incumbent advantage.
I'm not saying it's right, but form wins over function in elections. He can still do well in the "perceptive battle" that will really drive voters behaviors. Results/outcomes like experience, education, character or positions on issues is of lesser importance.
In the end, he'll win, because he's the "Devil You Know."
And before the Palin people chime in....do they really think today's electorate will vote for her? This isn't the same country that elected Reagan twice, demographically and morally. People may not like Obama, but still I don't see any Republican who is capable of overcoming him, at this juncture. Perry's record is going to come back to bite him, big time.
Watch the Jacksonian Democrats, the rats traditional base. He's killing them, economically, with his energy policies.
