Skip to comments.PERRY: WHY I SUPPORTED AL GORE...
Posted on 08/15/2011 8:09:32 PM PDT by RED SOUTH
In an interview with an Iowa radio station on Monday, the Republican presidential contender explained his role as the Gore campaigns Texas chairman by saying that this was Al Gore before he invented the Internet and got to be Mr. Global Warming.
But in fact, global warming was already a significant theme for Gore in 1987 and 1988 long before his activism led to several books, a Nobel Prize and a part in an Academy Award-winning film. It was also well before the right gave him the "Mr. Ozone" nickname and talk radio heaped endless mockery on the future vice president.
I don’t trust either of these two clowns.
Perry seeems to be getting exposed for what he really is....
I admit I’m confused. There was a time known as “before Gore was a scumbag”? As far as I can tell Armand’s little protege has always been a weasel - which makes me leery of Perry’s support for him.
I don’t trust Perry either , all that big establishment money lining up behind him should tell us all we need to know.
Yep... This can’t be explained.
So far his candidacy sounds like the Rick Perry apology tour.
This is a load of crap. Perry doesn’t answer the question. Why indeed did he think that Gore was so great in ‘88 that he chaired Texas for him? They didn’t ask what Gore was not, but rather what he DID represent back then that interested Perry. I can’t shake the feeling that Perry is a fraud. I hope that I’m wrong. Bob
The more I read about him, the more I know I was right in saying I will not support him.
There was no “Good Gore” who morphed into “Bad Gore”.
Gore has always been Gore.
I have a feeling more apology’s are coming.
Algore was a fairly conventional southern Democrat once upon a time, fairly conservative. He was against abortion, for instance.
We remember “crazy al”, Perry...sell it somewhere else. Tell your masters, the GOP elite machine and the socialist rats it ain’t working...
It was also the old Al Gore the NRA member and supporter.
Once he became VP though, all bets were off and he is now as far left as possible now.
I do have some concerns about some of Perry's other issues, but this one is a non-starter as far as I personally am concerned.
Hmmm GoCards, would it be rude to say, “I told you so” :)
Sorry for the Perry fans....But in my eyes this guy is DONE! Bauchman or Cain all the way......
Tell us about this please. Was Gore an underling of Armand HAMMER? That Perry would support such a guy (if I am reading you right) is reprehensible. Bob
I used to think that Gore was a fairly moderate/conservative Democrat. From the south and all, at least he talked a decent game. I totally agree that Gore transformed into this caricature over the last 10 years or so... As for Perry, dunno still, I am skeptical, but still evaluating.
