Elections Results from the AP
August 16 Wisconsin recall election results from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel

44EAGLE RIVER, Wis (Reuters) - Voters in two Wisconsin State Senate districts head to the polls on Tuesday in the last of nine recall elections triggered by the fight earlier this year over Republican-backed curbs on the union rights of public workers.

In Tuesday's two final special elections, Jim Holperin and Robert Wirch -- two Democrats who opposed the anti-union measure and even fled the state for weeks in an unsuccessful effort to prevent its passage -- are defending their seats.

Holperin seems to be in the tighter race. His rival is Kim Simac, founder of the Northwoods Patriots, a Tea Party group. Though Simac is a political novice, the district has leaned Republican in the three years since Holperin was elected.

No matter who wins, Republican Governor Scott Walker and his Republican allies will retain control of the legislature, where the battle over public workers' union powers was waged earlier this year with public protests, legislative maneuvering and court challenges.

With seven of the nine recalls over, Republicans have managed to keep control of the state senate -- 17 to 16 if they score no wins on Tuesday -- because Democrats failed to unseat three Republican state Senators in the key round of six GOP senate recalls last week.

There’s not much incentive on both sides now that control can’t change. But if I were to guess I’d say the Tea party has a bit of an edge as they are still ticked off over this BS and want to send a message

For the Dems this is the equivalent of a bronze medal game when they thought for sure they were a shoe in for the gold.

Maybe the unionistas will stay home today as a protest against WEAC’s heartless firing yesterday of 40% of its staff. But probably not.

Throughout today we've learned more details about the possibility that 'moderate' Republican Dale Schultz may bolt the GOP and join with the Democrats. He is under intense pressure from Senate Democrats to switch sides - in fact Schultz once was a Democrat. Schultz also was the ONLY Republican who voted against Gov. Walker's budget reform bill and then publicly criticized Governor Walker for his efforts to bring fiscal sanity to Wisconsin. We learned today that Schultz even went to the Democrat Leader in the Senate and offered himself as a vote for them in the Senate. This would be disastrous and would mean Democrats would be able to block Gov. Walker's agenda in Wisconsin. We can't let the Left win this way. That's why we are going all out to win in the 2 RECALL campaigns against Democrats that take place next Tuesday. In fact, if we prevail in these two races the net gain for Democrats through this entire RECALL process will have been ZERO (0) seats. They will have spent more than $30 MILLION for nothing!

I googled and can't find not 1 legitimate source posting about this.

Didn’t understand how the Republican seats had one voting date and the Democrat ones had another. Was it so Dems would have time to vote in both?

Has anyone of our Wisconsin freepers heard a take on the turnout?

Light or heavy may portend victory or defeat.

It’s probably a scam to try to get people to contribute money to them.

Their site had up to the minute reports on the results of last week’s election, so I didn’t suspect at the time that it might be phony. But since then, I haven’t seen this story corroborated anywhere else, so I suspect it is bogus.

Not to defend anything that Obummer may have to do with this bus trip, but those buses were selected and purchased by the Secret Service, or so I’ve been informed, and are intended to be used for other official purposes. They were not obtained solely to support O’s current re-election campaign jaunt, although the timing of their delivery and shakedown cruise seems somewhat suspect.
Perhaps that Navy term, “shakedown,” that came so easily to mind has a certain subliminal relevance to the current jaunt across Iowa.

"Schultz once was a Democrat" ~ as much as people have been warned about RINOs they just don't want to listen yet here's a REAL RINO, a former Democrat, and he's pulling that trick of theirs of threatening to return to the Democrat fold.

Unless we needed this guy to gain control of a legislative body we should have NOT financed his campaign nor let him use our good name.

the Schultz defection story is a lib fantasy concocted when the 14 Dems were in Illinois. It is not based on fact. If Schultz didn’t bolt the party when Madison was filled to the gills with protestors, why would he now?

No, that cannot possibly be what the POTUS is traversing real America in.

Pretty sure that the GOP nominee will tell the USSS to give the other one to Biden, or Chavez/Putin.

I plan on posting election results to my original thread tonight, after a large percentage of the election results are in.

I am hoping for some unhappy liberal news readers on the local news tonight!

They can’t hide their bias, especially since Walker became our governor!
