Even after Michele Bachmann’s win in the Iowa straw poll last weekend, Sarah Palin won’t go away. Is she really serious about running for president? As Meghan McCain sees it, not a chance.
It’s the middle of August and we’re in the dog days of a political summer, when the Republican contenders for president are scrambling to figure out how to unseat Obama in 2012. The exaggerated importance placed on last weekend’s Ames straw poll isn’t a surprise. Michele Bachmann probably won’t be our next president, but the intense need for some sort of political news in our nonstop 24-hour cycle is to be expected. What should not be expected, however, is that six months away from the New Hampshire primary in January, the media is still spending a considerable amount of time obsessing over Sarah Palin, a woman who may or may not even be interested in a run for the White House.

The numbers who have long tuned her out for any run whatsoever, are mounting, and now when she comes on TV, it’s a similar reaction to Obama coming on TV. You know exactly what either are going to say, so you don’t even listen, leaving both with only their shrinking base to care.

Bet you say that to all the guys. Sexist, right? Do you wear lipstick? We learn by experience that we give as good as we get around here. The Palin supporters have been exceptionally obnoxious for months, with their over the top intolerance of anyone who questioned her intentions, her qualifications, or her failure to engage. So, we have moved on. Simple.
Megan McCain’s opinion is meaningless and getting in a lather over someone who isn’t running in our lifetime is a ridiculously petty of her.
Good post. The more time passes, the more I come to loathe all things Palin. I don’t see her as a tease, but more and more akin to Lonesome Rhodes. The nation simply cannot afford a phoney like her becoming the Republican nominee.
It’s still Alinsky tactics, when our side does it.
How about we stop attacks on our guys/guvs, and keep after the commies.

Perry, double dittos on that observation. The more I have looked at his actual record, he is just another southern pol from the same mold as Slick Willy the bent one.
