And you honestly wonder why nobody loves these skinhead, 'roided, bloused-booted badge heavy corrupt thugs.

These slugs are the Sheriff of Nottingham's henchmen. Right down to having to wear armor 24/7/365. Is it because it's good for their posture? Cops have used up all their "good guy" points. No one smiles when the cops approach, anymore. Who likes bullies?

Oh yeah, we have a FReeper who supports hacking in the cause of “social justice” and a “necessary means to an end.” Meet txnuke.

La Enchiladita:

You did not reply to my friendly and lengthy public note to you, which I wrote in reply to your accusation that I was a "concern troll" with friends in the group "Anonymous".

hehehe, why not?

I mean if you don't want to correspond, then okay... But then you want to call me out on another thread, taking my comments out of context? What gives? Did I hurt your feelings or something? Cuz you are way off base.

I grappled (I'm still grappling) with an issue that you obviously see as black and white. If having it all sewn up and resolved makes you so much better than me, then maybe you should try to generate more light than heat.

Here are some of the issues in this complex societal problem: the rule of law (which I hold in high regard), widespread corruption in government and law enforcement, powerlessness of individuals and often of groups of law-abiding citizens, civil disobedience, anonymity and mob mentality on the internet, technology and the "global village", etc, etc. Also, they have attacked oppressive governments as well as greedy corporations. And they attacked organizations for shutting down wikileaks. I had a REAL problem with "Anonymous" doing that. I think it was positively un-American. But I don't even know if anyone in their group is American.

You did not seem to think it necessary to quote me when I said the hackers are of "questionable character" and "criminal". Hmm?

Anyway, I am glad for you that you have it all figured out. Perhaps your disdain for me is because I am still thinking about it? Do you figure I am "slow" because I have not arrived at firm strong conclusions on this topic? In my opinion, you may have betrayed your arrogance and hardening of the attitudes by the way you misrepresent me and quote me out of context.

Here are the (more complete) excerpts in which I used the phrases you quoted:

Not sure why I care to discuss this particular topic. I am no crusader. In fact, politically rather apathetic. I guess one of the reasons I am apathetic is because I feel powerless. And so this group seems to have some influence on society / events / public relations that the average citizen does not. So it intrigues me that there may come a day when more individuals and/or groups have a greater impact. Although in this case, they seem to be of questionable character, and proceeding at great risk to their personal liberties. Every criminal thinks they are getting away with something.... most of them think that right up until the moment they get caught.

[in the context of Stuxnet, the virus which destroyed nuclear weapon development centrifuges in Iran]: I guess I thought I would sweeten the pot / expand the scope and make even ~more~ complicated the questions of ethics, anonymity, hacking for social justice and the role of technology in our worldwide village. LOL

[And in reply to the charge --accurate charge-- that "Anonymous" is breaking the law to accomplish their ends, I said:]

I just wonder in this day and age when so much of the liberal leadership in the US operates on the assumption that the end justifies the means, why fighting fair has to always be the best way to respond?
[signed]
Frustrated.

Yeah you got me to react again. Guess you are good at yanking my chain. Have a nice day.

By the way, I have posted my profile in good faith on this website and if you direct people to it in a libelous and deceptive way, I consider it an attack on ME, a REAL PERSON, not an online persona. And I so I am inluding JimRob as a recipient of this post. Stop that nonsense, please.

I’d like to see BART re-hire Johannes Mehserle and give him another taser.

Heh. Thanks.

Weenie = American food.

La Enchiladita = Patio TV dinner?

The depth and complexity of your reply to what I wrote (and the total failure to address a real issue) is the main thing prompting my comparison. No natural ingredients: thaw, microwave and throw it at the screen. You win LOL.
