Richfield man among 6 accused of illegal voting in Duluth, Iron Range

Six people have recently been charged in St. Louis County with a felony crime that is rarely seen on a Northeastern Minnesota court docket: "Voting while ineligible." It's a felony punishable by a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine, but a conviction most likely will result in a probationary sentence. Under Minnesota law, a person is ineligible to vote if their civil rights had not been restored after being convicted of treason, or any felony, or while under a guardianship in which a court order revoked the ward's right to vote, or if found by a court of law to be legally incompetent. All six of the people charged - four at the St. Louis County District Court in Duluth and two at the St. Louis County District Court in Hibbing - are accused of being convicted felons when they allegedly voted in the November 2008 general election.

If they’re being prosecuted, it’s a pretty good bet they’re suspected of being Republican.

This is a problem with same day registration. Both Minnesota and Wisconsin have that rule — register at the polls and then vote. It allows no time for the City, or County, clerk to check the validity of new registrations and is an open invitation to voter fraud.

In Wisconsin, the county clerk provides each polling place with a list of convicted felons who are on probation and all their aliases. We are supposed to stop them when they register. But, recently, the GAB (government accountability board) has instituted rigorous rules on what happens if an election clerk challenges a voter and is WRONG about the reason. The election worker can get into really big trouble. It’s almost not worth it.

That is something that I hope the WAlker administration takes care of, but with the Governor facing possible recall and only one extra vote in the Senate, it seems unlikely for them to retract same day registation. It would really stir up a hornet’s nest.

I suspect you’re right. Dem cheating is so common it doesn’t get print. The MSM doesn’t cover blacks intimidating whites at polls, they don’t cover black crime against whites, don’t cover union goons roughing people up - but they WILL cover any possible or imagined crime by a Teal Party Type. So I’m with you - these very few people are probably conservative - or as least ‘not liberal’...

This is how you do Franken Fraud.

“Felons for Franken” should have been a registered voting bloc.

Actually, you don’t even need that. you can “vouch” for someone in line and claim (truthfully or not) that they are your neighbor ,etc.

And...you can do that (vouch) for up to 15 people.

I will post a link when I find it later- a local story about a judge in St.Paul who let a felon out of jail to vote for Obama because “it’s a historic election”.

That's because they're disguised and no one recognizes them as black. I suspect they wear those glasses with a big white nose and mustache. ;-)

Man who pleaded guilty on drug charge gets to vote
7:09 PM, Sep 12, 2008

Twenty-four-year-old Javontez Lavel Ross pleaded guilty Thursday to possessing several bags of suspected heroin with intent to sell. But he asked Ramsey County District Judge Margaret Marrinan to postpone his sentencing so he could vote in the Nov. 4 election.

Ross, who said he recently moved to the Twin Cities from Chicago, would have been barred from voting if he had been sentenced before Election Day.

The judge granted his request, calling the contest a “historic election.”
