Ron Paul: Perry ‘Makes Me Look Like a Moderate’
Wall Street Journal ^ | August 18, 2011 | Danny Yadron

Presidential candidate Ron Paul, who has long called for abolishing the Federal Reserve, said he now looks “like a moderate” compared with GOP rival and fellow Texan, Gov. Rick Perry, who said it would be “almost treacherous, or treasonous,” if the central bank increased the money supply before the 2012 election.

Referring to Mr. Perry, the Texas congressman told supporters at a campaign event in Concord, N.H., Wednesday that “He realizes that talking about the Fed is good, too. But I tell you what: He makes me look like a moderate.”

Mr. Paul added, “I have never once said [Fed Chairman Ben] Bernanke has committed treason.”

Perry said raising money supply for “political” reasons would be “almost” treasonous. In fact he is correct if not understating the issue.

First, it was an indirect accusation of treason, I’m tired of the hype that “Perry accused Ben of Treason...”

Secondly, all RuPaul is doing is trying to see if appearing “reasonable” will get him a few disaffected Perry supporters.

I’m still wondering what happened to Ron Paul’s promise to call the Fiend Chairman Bernanke before his committee to demand answers to the Fed’s policy of printing trillions of dollars Bob.

Ron, believe me, there is no one and nothing on this earth that can make you look like a moderate.

This could be a play to pitch the fiscal conservative Paulites to the Perry camp. There will be at least two more declared GOP candidates that pitch over to the Perry camp in the few months to come. A consolidated front with 3 in the primaries cuts risk.
