(CNN) -- This week in Germantown, Maryland, it took less than a minute for a flash mob of teenagers to descend on a 7-Eleven, ransack shelves and make off with hundreds of dollars worth of stuff.
It's going to take much longer for police in Montgomery County to figure out how to prevent it from happening again.

Or, install a sprinkler type device over the door that will mist a dye like banks use in dye packs. Have the clerks flip the switch once they start entering and exiting.
That should give the cops, teachers and general public several days to spot these marked thugs.

Depends how badly you want to solve the problem.
Here’s how you stop them.
If they are traveling in groups of 4 or more or loitering there is no other alternative but to stop them for ID’s and questioning. They did it to themselves.
