Perry’s Legion: The Folks Behind the Man
The New York Times ^ | July 30, 2011 | ROSS RAMSEY

Posted on 08/18/2011 6:05:00 PM PDT by Texas Fossil

Gov. Rick Perry’s inner circle has evolved significantly since he was first elected to the Texas House in 1984. He changed parties, for one thing, becoming a Republican and shucking one political infrastructure for another. And he changed offices, moving from the House to the Texas Department of Agriculture, from there to the lieutenant governorship and from there, with the election of George W. Bush to the presidency in 2000, into the office he holds today.

His closest advisers are a mix of family, longtime friends and close aides. They know his politics, his history, his strengths and weaknesses, what he eats for breakfast. As he decides whether to seek the presidency and how to proceed from there, Mr. Perry has been and will be relying on these confidants.

Too bad that they didn’t research Barry in this same fashion.

"Too bad that they didn’t research Barry in this same fashion."

Don't be a Racist or a Hater! If President Obama thought we needed to know more than we know he (in his wisdom) would tell us!

What a contrast from Obama’s close aides - Wright, Ayers, Khalidi, Powers, Jarret, Van Jones.

Whew! Finally, real America lovers.

Yes, too bad. And to this day the silence screams for coverage of the background of the “Won”.

His history is totally conjured. All fabricated, total lies and nothing real. Illusion personified.

We need Sarah Palin to save us from Obama, Perry and Romney. There is very little difference among the three.

Rick has endorsed some dumb stuff, but he has never been a leftie nor a Lib. He has always been a fiscal conservative, even in the days when he was a Dem. (all of Texas was Dem at one point, before the leftist took total control of the Dem party)

Rick is a Texan. That transcends party lines and a lot more. When the right people here jerk his chain, he listens. He and I grew up 15 miles apart. His family came to Haskell County in 1887, 2 years before my family who came in 1889. I know both of his parents, but have never met Rick.

I would so love to see him duke it out with Obozo. And I don’t even like to watch a fight. But I so loath Obozo that this might be an exception.

Re: ...Obama, Perry and Romney. There is very little difference among the three...

Gadzooks! What are you smoking? I am a big Sarah supporter and would love to see her run, but will sport Perry if she doesn't. Even Romney if it is a choice between him and Obama.

I fear it is folks like you that got us Obama in the first place, or did you actually vote in the last Presidential election?

I don't understand that one. He is a Christian and his parents are too. Tolerance with Muslims in general is a mistake. We accommodate and they only demand more. Loose loose for us. We must remember that the scripture says that God is a jealous god.

Will still vote for Rick.

There are a few troll that post that propaganda here and

Drinking and posting here ?

Obama is a Marxist and Soros Puppet ?

Perry was the first GOP politician except Palin to take on the Marxist and dared to call him an out of control Leftist.

I really think that Perry can and will clean obama’s clock. But I have a relative who worked closely for Perry, and he hates him. Says that he has surrounded himself with thugs just like obama. I trust my relative. I need to know a lot more about Perry before I trust him, if I ever do.

You noticed my caution in the comments area when I posted it. It is certainly a leftie rag. As far as Soros, I am not sure but it would not surprise me.

The actual article was posted in the NY Times, but the source was the Texas Tribune. The Texas Tribune is worse than the Texas Monthly. Both are pure lefties and really suck.

Trust? That is an interesting word to use in context about a POL.

I have never met Rick. But know his parents.

My son-in-law and daughter know Rick and have been to meetings and dinners several times together. Rick knows about my family and is aware of the connection via my daughter.

I grew up 15 miles from Rick, but he is a few years younger than I am.
