Gotta make way for the expected influx of fairy cops.
The Army is switching to mostly military police. AFAIK, at least at Hood, it hasn’t been all MPs in a good long time, if ever in the post Vietnam period. But there were more before 2001 than there are now. The husband of a former coworker at Hood retired from the Army as the top enlisted MP at Hood. He then went to college locally, as did she, and they got jobs with different contractors on post. He contracted cancer and passed away a few years ago. She, and I, got laid off at the end of the year. She was hired by another contractor to do much the same work, but that may not last either. It’s possible the whole command we supported may be moving elsewhere, and if so, she won’t go, being too rooted locally. I’ve not been able to obtain a new position, in spite spending at least 2-3 hours daily on the pursuit thereof.
I was in the same hospital as the female officer pictured, when I had my knees replaced last summer. She barely made it, having nearly bled out while waiting for transport and on the way to the hospital. They thought she wasn’t that badly injured. We had at least one of the same physical therapists. He only told me that he had treated her, the rest comes from local news stories.
Anthony Burgess, the author of “A Clockwork Orange” wrote a better book called “The Wanting Seed” which envisions precisely the scenario you’re discussing. It would be considered hate literature today.
