CBS News ^ | August 19, 2011 | NA

EXCERPT: After going upstairs and looking around the store, Obama was seen holding five or six books, including "Brave New World" and "The Bayou Trilogy." He went to the cashier after Malia and Sasha had picked out some books of their own, but disagreed with the $32 price he was quoted, which seemed low for the size of his stack. He paid by credit card, telling the cashiers that he uses it only about three times a year.

For Obama "Brave New World" is a "how to" book.

Nope. He's reading Brave New World so will gestate his child in a bottle and then hide the decanting certificate.

What does he do the rest of the time? Pay with cash or let the Secret service pick up the tab and bill it to us?

Well, Bayou Trilogy is $15.61 at Barnes and Noble, and $11.55 at Amazon, so, that was half the bill right there.
This guy thought $32.00 was too much for that plus four or five more books at an Independent Bookseller’s Shop?

This idiot probably thinks that buying these books will make him seem intellectual, even though most of us read "Brave New World" when we were in junior high or high school.

Hey Barry, instead of those 5 or 6 books, how about picking up the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence and The Federalist Collection? There's your "Brave New World".

Tell me about it. Let's pray he keeps on doing what he's doing. It's 1980 all over again.

"Oh I'm not worried, I'll win a second term."

A beautiful thing wasn't it? Even Assachussets went to Reagan, and Georgia don't count as it was Peanut boys home state. Has there ever been a greater landslide than this? I think there will be in 2012! LOL LOL LOL! YESSS!

“Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley

Comparisons:

“What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us of information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance.” -Neil Postman
