Isn’t there a job program attached to this also? Maybe not the worst aspect of it but it sure is a poke in the eye to unemployed Americans.

They'll be allowed to seek work permits, as
Numbers USA points out. Technically, someone who's granted deferred action would normally be able to do the same.
The problem is that those are individual cases, not hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of illegal aliens granted de facto amnesty.
The unemployment rate among foreign-born and unnaturalized residents is lower than that of U.S. citizens, FWIW.
