Obama dangerously close to a 'Killer Rabbit' moment
Chicago Tribune ^ | August 19, 2011 | John Kass

Posted on 08/20/2011 5:22:55 AM PDT by Zakeet

Is President Barack Obama on the verge of being attacked by a bunny wabbit?

Absolutely.

All the signs suggest that Obama is in immediate danger of a rabbit attack. It would ruin what's left of his presidency. And it would horrify Democrats by ushering in, say, a President Bachmann.

It might happen while he's on that ridiculous vacation of his. Obama is chilling at some exclusive multimillion-dollar estate on Martha's Vineyard, even as thousands more Americans hit the unemployment lines, and as Republicans like Michele Bachmann make wild-eyed, crazed claims about bringing back $2 per gallon gas.

"I think it's a little too early yet for the president to be attacked by a rabbit," cautioned a veteran Chicago Democrat wise in the ways of Obama. "But it's close. Real close."

Anyone who thinks Obama is safe from a rabbit attack has forgotten what happened to President Jimmy Carter In 1979. Carter was attacked by a swimming rabbit, and the subsequent "Killer Rabbit" stories helped destroy his presidency. It led to the election of Republican Ronald Reagan in a landslide and an unprecedented economic revival.

There are eerie similarities.

I saw a squirrel doing some crazy stunts on the golf course a couple months ago. It was the rabies angle that kept me as far away from it as possible.

“but is he really as bad as President Carter”

YES YES YES..

When Carter was thrown out; there was still a country left for Reagan to fix.

Not sure about this time.
For starters; Obama seems intent on taking down the entire world's financial system, not just the US.

I was a teenager during the Carter years, and yes they were unneceessarily painful.

I think Obama is worse. The high unemployment and underemployment is only part of our current problem. The way that Obama has consistently acted against the will and the interests of the people is mind boggling to me. We have not even begun to experience the unintended consequences of the massive 2000+/- page bills that have been rammed through.

But even with all the bad news, there's some good news for the president.

He's not much of a fisherman.

Hey, maybe there's a bowling alley in Martha's Vineyard!

That’s what I was thinking. The “killer rabbit” wasn’t the cause of the Reagan Landslide. At the time we just all saw it as proof that even the wildlife was fed up with the peanut farmer.

He’s already started this by using regulatory agencies to institute laws that impact the economy ...

And he’s openly declared that he won’t enforce laws that he doesn’t agree with (e.g. DOMA).

We’re also only beginning to understand the extent of the administrations involvement in undermining 2nd Ammendment rights with the fast and furious case.

When Jimmy Carter pardoned the Vietnam War draft dodgers and brought them all home in time to vote Democrat in the next election, it showed the country what a sorry excuse for a man we had as a President, and it also showed the country what the Democrat Party is made of.

Exactly...likely with more to follow. While Congress can “undo” Executive Orders, it takes agreement in both Houses and a will to get it done, which is unlikely. Even if they do rescind it, the damage will have already been done. Not good...

We probably can’t even imagine what Obama’s killer rabbit moment will look like, but we can all see the signs pointing to the near approach of that wonderful moment.

It could be him farting loudly during his next takeover of the airwaves...er, TV speech. Or laughing hysterically at a crippled person on the vineyard, being unable to stop...or being caught on camera picking his nose and eating it.

Anything at all.

“Thats a fair question and I think a good one. I think Obama is worse due to the long term consequences of Obamacare. Maybe you should start a thread with that question?”

It is definately a question I wondered for a few months. Carter was arrogant and incompetent. While Obama is arrogant, possibly incompetent, and also seemingly bent on destroying the country. While currently things do not seem as bad as what I have read (not personally experienced) as during the Carter years, it seems most are predicting the long term effects of Obama to be much worse. It is tempting to post a thread about it.

The article is dated Aug 30th, so maybe there's a seasonal factor there. It could be imminent.

But more likely is an attack by a Killer Wookie.

Don’t now if it has been posted here but yesterday Neal Boortz played an incredible audio of Carter/Obama - He was repeating Carter’s speeches almost word for word!!! I hope to see it used in someone’s campaign....

That’s not a canoe like the writer claims; it’s a John boat.

Does a bloke need oars to use it?

"What's starting to scare me is that, at some point, Obozo is going to wake up to the reality that people don't like him and his socialist ideas.

He knows this and has always known it. That's why he campaigned to malevolent socialists, europeans, and lapsed catholics.

That's why he's titillating la Raza with innuendoes. He's making promises to our enemies, because that's his constituency.

He's never given a rip about Americans or what we think of him.

That was a good article, although it kind of fell apart at the end.

The funny thing is, Mark Krikorian at National Review’s Corner blog said this same thing just the other day. He was discussing the possible creation of a “Dept. of Jobs” and said “a killer rabbit lurks just over the horizon”.

http://www.nationalreview.com/corner/274679/another-cabinet-department-abolish-mark-krikorian

One thing about this Carter episode, I mean we’ve all had a good laugh at it all these years, and for years to come, I imagine, but still...

Isn’t it really kind of NOT GOOD that a rabbit approached a person that way? They’re rodents, I wonder if it might have been rabid? I know we all like cute bunnies (I LOVE cute bunnies, esp. when they have pancakes on their cute bunny heads), but it seems to me like that would be an actually dangerous situation.

Since you beat me to the image of the Caerbannog bunny, I'll post a pic of another rabbit that might have disrupted the bus tour...
