Rick Perry aims for right balance of firebrand and statesman in GOP race
Washinton Post ^ | August 19, 2011 | Philip Rucker and Nia-Malika Henderson,

.....In part because he is the newest entrant, Perry has drawn large crowds this week in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Here in Florence, he was greeted as a heartthrob Friday morning as more than 300 people jammed around tables, stood on booths and craned their necks to see past the hot breakfast buffet at Bazen’s Family Restaurant and take stock of the Texan.

It was one of the more enthusiastic crowds any candidate has assembled this year, and Perry did not disappoint when he tore into Obama.

“The president’s been on a jobs tour,” Perry said. “He had his big ol’ bus — his big ol’ $1.2 million bus, made in Canada. But, anyway, the real issue is our president’s out there and he goes on a jobs tour. This is the president of the United States that has killed more jobs in America than I think any president. . . . The only job he cares about is the one he’s got.”

Perry said his campaign is about “cuttin’ taxes, cuttin’ regulations and cuttin’ litigation.” In one of his biggest applause lines, he said: “I am a pro-business governor, and I don’t make any apologies to anybody about it. I’m going to be a pro-business president, and I won’t make any apologies about it.”

Perry learned this week that what may please his Republican audiences may not go over as well with people tuning in nationwide. Speaking to a ballroom of Iowa Republicans on Sunday night, Perry said: “One of the reasons, one of the powerful reasons, that I’m running for the presidency of the United States is to make sure that every young man and woman who puts on the uniform of this country respects highly the president of the United States.” .....

You sure the Tea Party is coming with her? I was at a Tea Party function at Southfork Ranch in Wylie Texas 3 years ago with my whole family and my parents. My wife's parents and her aunt and uncle were in Fredricksburg Texas 2 years ago at a anti tax rally.

We are all supporting Rick Perry for President. Looks like we have a fractured Tea Party

I'm not a Palin apologist so your post means nothing to me.

And do you really think pointing out a misspelling of a word makes your case (actually, that was a sticky key)? Many if not most here think doing so only makes you look petty. The 'spelling police' have a new spokesman in the name of 'PSYCHO-FREEP". Wear that badge with honor.

I proof read nothing so you're likely to find plenty of misspelled words in my posts. Have at it.

So true, and you know what? When all the dust has settled most of the posters here will cast their vote against Obama whether it be for Perry, Palin, Romney, etc. I well remember all the posters in 2008 who said they wouldn’t vote for McCain if he were the last man on earth, but in the end they did.

If the article was a hit piece it failed for me.

As I recall, JimRob was a Democrat once upon a time, so holding that against Perry is (another) losing strategy.

So you jump a Perry thread but you rarely see Perry supporters jumping Palin threads decrying her support of a windfall profit tax on oil companies which is very left wing, or her state receiving $1.80 in federal welfare for every dollar it sends in. Perry;s Texas gets .94 back on each dollar.

Palin is no where near Perry in executive experience when you live in an insulated state so far removed from almost any actual American problem. The state is smaller than about a quarter the size of Houston population wise, taxes oil companies for revenue and receives the 3rd most federal welfare of any state.

Alaska has no income tax or sales tax. How on earth does that translate to Washington when your budget consists of Federal welfare and oil money? If she ever made it to DC she would have to adopt Rick Perry's Texas model. I promise Perry wont adopt the Alaska model because it's unrealistic

Most members of the 101st I know, also support Perry. As well as the Oil Field. You know those evil corrupt Oil Men who Palin tried to take down. Looks like that moment of glory she enjoyed will lose her millions in long term support. (Never bite the hand that feeds you.)

Even these loons don’t think Perry is CFR.

The problem for the pedestrian student of conspiracy is that Rick Perry is CLEAN! According to Count Vittorio in Venice, Perry is noted for the following:

1. He is a member of NO Secret Societies including Scottish-Rite Freemasonry.

2. He is not a member of the Bilderbergers. Perry was only a guest for TWO HOURS of the meeting dealing with the Trans-Texas Corridor. He was then escorted out of the Bilderberger Conference immediately after that session of the conference. Now the Bilderbergers are full of Knights of Malta, including King Juan Carlos, the impetus behind the Trans-Texas Corridor.

3. He is not even a Third-degree Freemason.

4. He is not a member of the Rotary Club, though he has attended meetings.

5. He is not a Knight of Malta or member of any other papal knighthood.

6. He is not a member of Skull and Bones.

7. He is not a member or attendant of Bohemian Grove.

8. He is not a member of the CFR or Trilateral Commission.

9. He is not a Roman Catholic, but rather a Protestant Methodist.

Further, Rick Perry is a clean-cut, well-spoken, “Conservative Republican” White man who is VERY attractive to all White men in general now driven to national and financial desperation—as intended—by the Obama/Biden administration openly connected to the Jesuit Order. Perry is responsible for “stimulating” the economy of Texas, appears to be a genuine Christian recently “calling for prayer” in Texas, and is a successful husband and father. In short, he is EVERYTHING most Whites are panting for, and once a few manipulations are concluded, even the White Tea Party will finally endorse him. Just watch!

Looks like we have a fractured Tea Party

It's supposed to be fractured now. The nomination hasn't occurred yet.

Or are we all supposed to rally around whoever you support because... you support them?

I take it when Palin wins you plan on voting for Ubama?

Since when did I ever point out misspelling to any other FReeper? I type from a Laptop which is notorious for dropping letters and suddenly switches the courser between previously typed lines. I have all I can do to handle my own posts. I could care less how other people spell.

My mistake. You directed this at me:

Now that you mentioned “Appologists”.......

And as a result, I assumed, wrongly, apparently, that since you quoted my misspelling you were alluding to it. I apologize for my faux pas.

BTW..Perry sucks. :-P

Cheers.

There you go, that was clearly my mistake since I misspelled apology. (didn't spell check or proof read)

I could care less what you think of Perry, but at least do us all a favor and don't start the “cheers” crap, shortly after taking a dump in our MRE’s!

That’s like those claiming they are Christians yet supporting abortion or/and homosexuality. You cannot be a Christian and adhere to these.....you may call yourself one...that’s easy...but you are not.

I’ve got no proof for this, but I’ve got a strong suspicion that Sarah will stay out of the race as long as Perry is going strong. She may even — GASP — endorse him.

No but I will tell you this, I don't jump Palin threads and bash her because if she runs and if she wins the nomination, she will need our support.

Perry is running and is a better candidate in my opinion and is also who I support. I find Perry threads to hear news about my candidate and I have to constantly wade through the same minutia over and over by a hand full of Freepers hell bent on destroying Perry to build Palin up.
