Tension have been mounting in Libya today, with rebel forces encircling Tripoli, causing Qaddafi to lose his grip, according to the New York Times. "By Saturday afternoon, the rebels had driven Colonel Qaddafi’s forces out of the strategic oil refinery town of Zawiyah, 30 miles west of Tripoli. After a week of heavy fighting there, residents began to celebrate in the main square." Although, in Tripoli, still a Qaddafi stronghold, government officials "continued to insist that they would fight to the end," the Times wrote that "rumors swept Libya that [Qaddafi] was preparing to flee, if he had not already."
Now the rumors are turning into unconfirmed reports. NBC New Chief Foreign Correspondent Richard Engel tweeted: "BREAKING: Libyan TV reporting Qaddafi has fled with two sons."

According to US Premier Hussein, he doesn’t get to claim credit, the NATO alliance does. After all we weren’t really fight it...we were just incidental to the whole thing. (snort)

Gaddafi does not want to be dragged into an international court or back to Libya for a Mubarek styled trial. I do not believe he is “fleeing” so much as he has been negotiating an imminent departure that will provide him immunity. He is probably also negotiating to have the sheckels he stole unfrozen as part of the deal.He can live quite well with his Ukrainian amazon nurses in Tunisia or Morrocco.

Europe and US can't help financially because we're broke. They have no political structure except for Radical Islamist. They will be fighting a civil war for decades to come. The “Rebel” factions will soon be fighting each other for power. Within 3 months Americans will be asking whether Ole Daffy was really that bad.
