If the Republican Presidential race were a poker game, you could say that Palin, the underdog has remained in late position long enough to see the full ring, to expose the live ones. Shes learned their tells, and shes seen some bust, but now its time for her to go all in with what looks to be a royal flush.
If youre not a poker player, you may need a poker dictionary to decipher my analogy. And they think she doesnt know how the game of politics is played. The good old boys just never realized that she wasnt playing by their rules.
If, or rather when, Sarah Palin announces her candidacy for President; Republican polls will likely shift in her favor.
[...]
Its looking more and more these days as if Sarah Palin will announce her run for the White House in short order. If you keep up with Palins history, you may come to the conclusion that there is no accident in her decision to go to Iowa September 3rd for what many believe will be her big announcement. September 3, 2011 is three years, to the day, that Sarah Palin accepted the nomination for Vice President and gave her famously rousing speech during the Republican National Convention.
[..]
72% of likely Republican voters say when casting their primary vote, they favor a candidate who shares their views over one who has a better chance of winning.
That turns the notion of people agreeing with Sarah Palin, but dont think she can win from a negative, into a potential strength. They are going to vote for her regardless, thus, breaking the mold of the typical voter.

I agree.
The way it is, she doesn't know how many are in solid for Perry. Sorry, I think it was a dumb way to play it.....IF SHE IS IN.....WHICH I THINK NOT.....
Remember, she has an out...if no one "formidable" comes along, then I will run.
Hate to break it to all you loyal Sarah fans....But once a quiter, always a quiter.
I have nothing against her. Nice lady with nice ideals...."LIKE MILLIONS OF OTHER WOMEN". Presidential??
Pay attention to what the media is doing here!
NO ONE officially associated with the event has said Palin will announce. The media is setting it up for when she doesn’t announce on Sept. 3rd, that she’s a tease, not committed, not serious, etc. etc. etc.
The truth is people involved in the event are stating that if you’re planning on going Sept 3 just for the big announcement, you’ll probably leave disappointed.
It will be a great day. But not for the reason the media is disingenuously creating
(((((PING)))))
I think it's a smart move letting people get a look at Perry. The closer people look at Perry the more he appears like George W. Bush, Jr. on every thing from immigration to growing government. Bush fooled us by campaigning as a conservative and governing as a liberal. Look for the same with Perry.
Karl Rove has nothing against Rick Perry's policies. Rove is just upset because he isn;t on the team.
Three years to the day she inflamed and scalded, The Rats with a COOL speech, besmirching their mongrel pet, Which till this VERY day they are still Howling and rubbing their butts across, The carpet when they hear her name!
New guy here but long time Palin fan. I really want her to run. 15 months is a long time and people can and will change their minds about her as to her electability. 1 thing I’m sure of, nothing BO’s attack machine throws at her will go unchallenged.
I just don’t see her doing it.
She has much to lose, and not a lot to gain.
As much as she is beloved around here, the MSM has made her such a caricature of herself that she will never, ever be able to get past the first few primaries.
And, in the open primaries the Dems will flock to the polls—just to get her the nomination. And Obama will limp through the election.
The Republicans will lose the White House, we will lose the best opportunity to take the Senate, and I bet we lose the House.
The Independents will NOT vote for Sarah. Period.
Sarah is smart...sharp and savvy. I question the ‘good’ of announcing on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend...an off day in the news cycle. I truly believe Palin will run (and win!) but my guess is her announcement will be the day AFTER Barry drops his load of a ‘jobs bill thingy.’
Palin needs to ATTACK Duh Won head on issue by issue...and the (true) Queen will checkmate Dear Leader once his ‘plan’ (focusing like TWO lasers!!!) is made known.
UBetcha2012!
Another poster made a comment the other nite and it makes sense to me regarding ‘any announcement’ in Sept.
Gov Palin is scheduled to appear with Glen Beck in October. It doesn’t seem likely that if she plans on ‘announcing’, that she would make such an appearance particularly with Beck.
LOVE YA SARAH!
Myth...knockd down to 4 or 5 by Palin. Hey, he could always switch registration and primary against Barry (he is ObamaLite).
Oh, you can count on stinging rebukes by Team Palin. She has been "out there" for a handful of years now and the left has continually come up empty after some vicious attacks. This election will be straight up slander and lies unlike anything we have seen.
I hope it comes down to high poll numbers for Palin and a stern message from her to the media: "The more you lie about me, the less access you and your affiliated networks will have to the White House when I am sworn in."
There are all sorts of rumors about this lady. The latest being she will retire to Arizona and open a check cashing payday loan service.
You entire post is garbage, but this is beyond laughable. I am saving your post so that on Nov 7, 2012 I can come back and show you how wrong you were.
PDS is alive and strong with so many fake conservatives on FR.
“Run Sarah, Run!”
Beautiful creature as well!
But I also think she waited too long. It's not like this is a sudden thought "Sarah Palin? Candidate for 2012?".
Since 2008 when many Americans thought of 2012, the name Sarah Palin was the next thought.
What Americans do not want to see in these terrible times is political strategies on when to announce.
As Rush Limbaugh said: "any candidate that has not yet announced either has no idea how bad off we are in the United States these days or they're playing politics with our dilemma."
I was hoping that Sarah Palin would have been the first to announce.
“She has much to lose, and not a lot to gain.”
I think she has more to lose by not running than suffering a primary loss. People follow leaders, not kingmakers.
How many people follow Karl Rove or read his books?
Run Sarah Run
Coming in as a Sarah Palin supporter is a smart way to start.
Watch out for the PDS crowd though—many are just plain nasty and will try to hurt your feelings;)
Personally I think it’s about time she announced her intentions or get off the pot.

You cant just say crap like...once a quitter always a quitter, and then say it was not personal.
Who do you think you`re fooling???
“And Mitt bumped down to a number 3 or 4 position, how sweet will that be?
OR, so many conservatives will divide the vote sufficiently to give it to Mittens.
**********************************
I'm an "Independent".
Run Sarah, run!
How is she a quitter?
The State Run media did everything to destroy her and she is still standing. All those wild goose chases and false charges she had to withstand and defend make her my choice, but I don't think she can be elected with the unfair treatment my the media. They hate her like no other candidate. BTW, welcome to FR.
It isn't that hard to understand the brilliance of Palin's move in resigning her governorship. It wasn't an issue of quitting. Palin's move outflanked her enemies. It gave her the edge she needed to arrive to the point she is at right now. Alaska and Gov. Parnell have benefited by her bold move and so has Sarah Palin herself. The only ones harmed by her resignation are Obama, the Dems in congress and the political machine hellbent on destroying her. And to a lesser extent, the Republican establishment(many of whom post here on FreeRepublic denigrating her)
That's utter horse manure.
Here's the spin had she stayed in and campaigned:
“She is neglecting her governor duties to sell books and make a name for herself”
“Why is she never in Alaska doing her job?”
Some people just have an agenda against her. She scares a lot of people because she doesn't follow their “script”.
Well the following the script has nearly ruined this nation.
Some are just scared of a woman being President; on the left and the right.
We need someone who do things very differently. We have very little time to save this nation; I hope it's not too late already.
All I have to say to your opinion is:
“Ronald Reagan, the 33rd Governor of California, announced his candidacy for President of the United States in New York City on November 13, 1979.”
“Ronald Reagan presidential campaign, 1980”
What part of Sarah Palin saying she would do things differently; don't people understand?
It is truly amazing how many purportedly intelligent people (including FReepers) don't understand that Palin' quitting the governorship was an unconventional (and, thus, unexpected) step that completely befuddled her detractors and demonizers.
You might say, she stole a march on them -- diminishing her legal liability and, at the same time, enhancing her freedom of action for the future.
For anybody who wished to maintain their political viability, it was a brilliant action.
Indeed, Palin has proven that she is one of the most unconventional politicians ever. And one of the most successful -- given how effectively she's dealt with the media over the past three years.

Staying on as governor would've been the easy thing to do. And it would've been a political loser, long-term. Quitting was risky, thus harder, but it was her one way to win the game.

This nation is in serious trouble. While I give Sarah Palin much of the credit for our wins in 2010. If it weren't for Sarah Palin we would have a lot less power these days in DC. The GOP needs Sarah Palin.
Me, I was hoping she'd have been the first to announce.

As Rush Limbaugh said: "any candidate that has not yet announced either has no idea how bad off we are in the United States these days or they're playing politics with our dilemma."
It might be that she didn’t PLAN to announce on the third, but the people are coming from everyhere across the country to this event because they BELIEVE she will. The pundits and the msm have possibly trapped her into having to announce by hyping this. A lot of the people who are going to this literally NEED for her to announce and I think she knows it. If she doesn’t, it might screw her for good. A lot of her supporters will be just apoplectic if they feel she let them down. Either way. I think she will.

They are stuck with the same "lesser of two evils" choice that is used to urge people to vote party instead of conscience.
I can wait....
;^D
Remember, she has an out...if no one "formidable" comes along, then I will run.
Hate to break it to all you loyal Sarah fans....But once a quiter, always a quiter.
First of all she is not a "quiter." If you meant "quitter," then apparently you never read her book nor the news over the last three years.
Furthermore, how do you know she doesn't know "how many are in solid for Perry?"
"... then I will run." When do you declare your candidacy?
Do you have political strategy experience?
I disagree.....she likes Glenn Beck and he greatly respects her.....there is no reason NOT to appear as Candidate for President at his rally....it will only bring more people....
So, in short, the majority will vote for the dems to run the house, senate and white house despite the past three years of disasterous economic, domestic and foreign policy programs just because of Palin.
Oke doke.
It makes some women just go crazier than a dung-beetle.

I think this story might be an indirect way of letting us know that the Left Stream Media is preparing their vitriolic, ad hominem attack machine for war.
In 2008 it was three times as worse than what any other VP or even Prez candidate has received in living memory. Now take that level of unjustified, visceral, and irrational hatred by the Left and take up another three or more notches if and when she declares her run for Prez.
I think it is going to be sooooooo bad that the Secret Service will be hiring extra help plus putting in lots and lots of OT just to keep up with the threats to her, her family’s and her extended family’s lives. I think the Leftist wackos will even make an actual attempt on her life before the national election. That’s how bad I think it is going to be.
Then there will be the protests between the Left and the Right and I think they are going to get F-U-G-L-Y to put it mildly. Just her presence alone leaves the Left in an apoplectic conniption fit.
The the Conservatives best be ready for wild ride to next November!
Who do you think you`re fooling???
Well, Sacajaweau's critical thinking skills mirror his poor spelling and grammar.
Keep a list of all of the FReepers who are Palin naybobs you come across.
Oh yippee. Another PPDDS thread...
Perry/Palin Derangement/Deification Syndrome... deranged will attack deifiers from all directions...
