Skip to comments.Matthews Panel (5 lefties): Mitt Romney Will Be The Nominee Because Rick Perry ‘Unelectable’

Despite an instant, commanding lead in the polls, newly-minted GOP presidential candidate Gov. Rick Perry is already being viewed as unelectable. The panel of reporters on Sundays The Chris Matthews Show reached a general consensus that Perrys loose talk and extreme views will eventually lead the Republican establishment to choose the more moderate, more electable Mitt Romney to challenge President Obama in the general election.
Barely a week into his campaign, the Texas Governor has talked himself into trouble, and not just with liberals and Democrats. While John Heilemann sees Perrys smashmouth certitude as an advantage over Mitt Romney, The New York Times Helene Cooper points out that, eventually, Republicans are going to have to think about beating Barack Obama, not each other. In perhaps the best piece of news for Romney, Cooper says that he is still the candidate that the White House is most worried about.

Five hopeless libtard VIPS from five hopeless libtard media haymakers conjuring up some alternate reality. Then this author presenting their idiotic "analysis" as some type of unassailable final judgement.
One thing that's endearing Perry to me is the way he makes his detractors absolutely bats*** crazy.
Than I guess Perry is the one that SHOULD be the nominee. (No matter what, don’t throw me in the briar patch...)
He does have presidential hair.
CFR-Rick may or may not be unelectable, but he is certainly not ineluctable.
So far here’s a list of those against Perry:
The Bushies (whose mom also said Sarah Palin should “go back to Alaska”.
Seems like Rick Perry is just not RINO enough for this group.
We’ve got a lot of folks on FR who proudly declared that they “won’t support Romney in the Primary, but will vote for him if he’s the candidate.”
In other words, they’re saying “I’ll vote for Romney.” That’s what Karl (Tokyo/Turd Blossum) Rove hears.
Then they crow that they’ll vote for “anybody but Obama.”
Remember Kerry’s success running as “Not George W. Bush?” Neither do I.
It’s weird how the libtards continually have to babble and drool over the GOP to keep from having to talk about their guy, Barack the Loser.
Interpretation: Romney is more vunerable (Romneycare), so Perry must not be the nominee.
The good laugh I’m going to get from this, is watching the Perry folks diss the Lefties for the same tactic they have been using on Bachmann.
Oh, they are unelectable. LMAO
If someone is the best person, it’s time to treat them like the best person and forget about who is electable or not.
Ronald Reagan was considered by many to be unelectable in the early stags of his 1980 run.
“Its weird how the libtards continually have to babble and drool over the GOP to keep from having to talk about their guy, Barack the Loser.”
Says it all. Back in the day they were breathless over his vacations. They loved to show us his shirtless body in the surf [don’t shoot me; I’m just the messenger] and the fine figure he cut going out to a fancy restaurant.
Now he may as well not exist. They would rather talk about toe fungus.
Can you blame them?
When the left wing crazy media “deem” a Republican unelectable, we know that is the candidate we should run!
This election is one of the most important elections in the history of the United States of America. We will not let the bat sh*t crazy left pick our candidate this time.
They WANT Romney to be the nominee....he’s the “new” Bob Dole/John McCain NOTHINGBURGER.
Remember once upon a time ago when the mighty ‘Hellary’ was the can’t miss candidate? Why should we listen to these ‘expert’ pundits. We decide who is electable or not although they decided to foist the Hobbit hater establishment RINO on us last cycle.
Last presidential election due to crossover voting john mc cain was selected.
Let’s not let obammy’s obediant media help us select who may represent the opposition this election.
Unlike Barack Obama.
From my recollection, Reagan was the top of the polls with announced candidates. Only Ford out polled him. Reagan was always the frontrunner in '80.
The people who want most for our side to lose want us to believe that they fear Romney the most - yet they continue to shill for Romney, even though they fear him most.
It's like they've convinced themselves that nobody will catch on to their obvious troll status.
