The Obamas' summer break in Martha's Vineyard has already been branded a PR disaster after the couple arrived four hours apart on separate government jets. But according to new reports, this is the least of their extravagances. White House sources today claimed that the First Lady has spent $10million of U.S. taxpayers' money on vacations alone in the past year. The article mentioned the trip to Martha’s Vineyard. It alluded to the fact that taxpayers are paying for their trip to Martha’s Vineyard. Is it really true that taxpayers are paying for the rent where they’re staying, and is that the policy? If so, that’s outrageous. We shouldn’t be paying for presidents to go on vacation. While it may be a drop in the bucket compared to our deficits, it sends a horrible message to taxpayers out there.

I don’t know at all how these things work but there should be a set budget for Presidents and their families. Period. How they spend them I don’t care, but there should be a set amount and it should be what it is. Not a bottomless bucket of money.
Of course, I think each state should also pay all expenses except for the actual building costs for Congress. Whatever they want to spend on their representatives is fine with me. But I don’t see why FL or CA or TX should pay for the representatives for MA or RI or MI. I know it’s probably a drop in the bucket when you look at the entire budget, but I think it would send a very clear message. We are tired of you living like kings and queens at the paupers expense. There was a revolution fought over just this sort of thing.

You should, they are far more of what news papers used to be than the main stream newspapers like the NY Times and Washington Post. And they have broken several major stories before anyone in the MSM have even been interested.

Which leads me to believe this means either the Obama’s are getting the goods while the getting’s good or they know the next election is bought and paid for. This is not the behavior of someone who needs public approval to continue being President.

When it comes to aliens, horoscopes and Jeanne Dixon predictions, I would agree. However, the Enquirer has a pretty solid record recently with regard to hard news. When it involves real people, they can't just make stuff up out of thin air. They are subject to libel laws just like everybody else and have had to pay out big $$$ in the past, so they are pretty careful about these things.
