Considering that many dentists thrive on the ‘drill and bill’; this is going to devastate them.

I suspect they may find dubious reasons not to use it....

Or the ADA will submit that this chemical is ‘dangerous’ and needs to be a ‘controlled substance’ like most every antibiotic known to man. You have to get it from a dentist, and only a dentist - and he will charge you whatever fee he see’s fit.

Just like Floride rinse.

Expect the price of this miracle gel to far exceed the price of a filling.

After getting a cavity filled in 1982, then having it die in 2000 while pregnant, having one root canal fail, then another done only to have the tooth break and pulled to the tune of nearly 2000.00, it’s worth it.

Down the rabbit hole with the 150 mpg carburetor.

Except that the "150 mpg carburetor" is purely urban legend.

You and I are probably two of the very few whose mouths are worth leaving to the kids as inheritance.....especially if gold stays above $1,800 an ounce!!!

That’s why I quit going to the SOBs. Twenty years ago one told me I’d need root canal next time I came in. I walked away and never went back. Teeth have been fine ever since.

Dentists already largely slit their own throats (economically speaking) by lobbying for flouride in the water. My father was an Oral Surgeon, and before flouride was put in the water (central NJ, mid-1960’s) he did a lot of full-mouth extractions (i.e. ALL teeth removed). Afterwards, the numbers declined dramatically.

Dentistry is ultimately headed toward a model where the dental assistants will do 95% of the work, and even before this announcement it was a good part of the way there.

“but if the magical tooth-regenerating serum ends up gracing your local dentist,”

IF...

As my dear, departed uncle used to say, “If a bullfrog had wings, he wouldn’t bump his fanny when he hops”.
