I would hope the people of New York would be more gracious should you ever be in danger, sir.
It certainly will not just keep intensifying until it gets over land. That is an absurd model prediction. She is not in the Gulf of Mexico. If that prediction is correct however, it will be catastrophic. She is heading north into a west to east air flow pattern. That will hold her up, hopefully.
Oh, we are staring down the barrel of it here. I do believe we are a bit more prepared and “self reliant”. Sir.
We’re on the coast in MA. Our boat and those of our dockmates are being pulled tomorrow and. Saturday.
Maybe, maybe not. In NYC, power lines are mostly buried, so it's less likely to cause outages. Long Island is another story. It may be a repeat of Hurricane Gloria in 1985
bump!
Here in Connecticut, we haven’t been hit by a bad storm in years. Gloria was in 1985, one in the 50’s and one in the 30’s, so I think we’re due.
Stocking up batteries and propane just in case. My be a chance for my husband to try out his new generator.
Doesn’t that cone look like a political projection, rather than a mathematical projection? The media need their ‘shark’ story for this summer, so to predict that Irene will hit NYC, Long Island, Cape Cod, etc seems like an “interpretation” that will get people’s attention.
Lets hope the models got it wrong, otherwise prayer might be in order.
Tell that to all the brave members of NYFD and NYPD.
