Even for Sarah Palin, there are deadlines.
The former Alaska governor seems to believe that most of the rules of politics dont apply to her that with her media appeal and her grassroots following, she could waltz into the presidential campaign at the 11th hour and make a go of it.
But if she does want to run for president, shell have to get on the ballot. Palin has gestured vaguely at various self-imposed deadlines the latest being late September but there are some drop-dead dates that she cannot escape, starting with Oct. 31.
Thats the day presidential candidates names have to be submitted for inclusion on the primary ballot in Florida. By the next day, candidates have to file for the South Carolina primary ballot along with a $25,000 fee. And the deadlines for other states come fast and furious after that. Its $1,000 by Nov. 18 in New Hampshire. On Dec. 5, thousands of signed petitions are due in Illinois.
It isnt inconceivable that somebody could get into the race as late as the first or second week in October and manage to get it all done, provided they knew what they were doing, said Matt Seyfang, a Democratic lawyer whos handled ballot-access and delegate issues for five presidential campaigns, including Bill Clintons 1992 effort which didnt get started until October 1991. But any later than that, he said, would probably be impossible.

Has this person been living under a rock? It’s as if she’s the only person who has not heard that Sarah will make an announcement on Sept. 3.
I think it’s already too late.
I suspect that Sarah has been paying for private polling to see how many people change their mind about voting for her after they see the movie and the 2 minute commercial. If nobody changes their mind, then she will not run. If she “converts” enough to win past the margins of error, then she will get in.
IMHO, she will only get in if she has evidence that she will win both the primary and the general.
Sarah isn’t getting in. She unfortunately missed her window, found her negatives unmanagable and is perfectly content with admonishing the meanies and the galactically stupid 24/7, tutoring the populace and generally stepping on the real candidates efforts to unfold their campaigns. There are fewer and fewer left who appreciate that much, and as another has said, the candidates will squirm if they get her endorsement. Game on is game over.
Come back Sept. 4 and tell me what happened.
Love your post!
Sarah Palin never stated that she would announce on September 3rd.
Tell them they can save as much as 15% on car insurance if they go with Geico.
Another article by Politico today suggest she would struggle in the primaries alone.
Sarah Palin out for two-fifths of Republicans, poll finds
snip:A nugget from today’s Pew poll that deserves a post of its own: Forty-one percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters say there is “no chance” they would vote for Sarah Palin in a presidential race.
That’s the second-highest rejection rate of any Republican candidate, exceeded only by Newt Gingrich, who was ruled out by 48 percent of respondents.
You are so wrong!
We feel the same way, SARAH!!
Ive already put a couple notorious thumpers on notice that if theyve not already been zotted before hand, the day she announces and theyre continuing to trash her, they get the zot. Guaranfreepingteed!

Then they can either vote for Obama or stay home. Screw them!
The Drive By Media is going to wish for these Days when Sarah wasn't in the Race, because once she is, she will be saving a truck full of Money to fund her campaign, because she will be living in their heads Rent Free, 24/7 365.
I need the ground rules laid out here so I don't get the zot.
