...The new requirement specifically pertains to rifles with calibers greater than .22 and capable of holding a detachable clip and that are sold in the four states that border Mexico, including Arizona, California and New Mexico. The ATF will use it's National Tracing Center to analyze the information reported by dealers. The whole thing is a waste of time, said Alex Hamilton, president of 10-Ring Precision Inc., a San Antonio-based firearms seller, who brought the suit against ATF Acting Director Kenneth Melson. They dont need to cause me to do more useless paper work when they have all the tools at their disposal. Hamiltons suit was filed in U.S. District Court in the Western District of Texas in San Antonio. It alleges that under the requirement, 10-Ring has been, and will continue to be, threatened with, and subjected to, irreparable harm which includes economic loss as a result of having to devote employee time to preparing the reports and the loss of business from both in-state and out of state potential purchasers
who would have been dissuaded from doing so because they wish to protect their privacy rights. Earlier this month, the National Rifle Association filed a similar suit against the government on behalf of two firearms dealers in Arizona. Hamilton and his attorneys, Allen Halbrook and Richard Gardiner, also allege the rule exceeds the agencys authority because the new rule is not required by current law and not necessary for a bona fide criminal investigation....
The BATFE needs this information so they can prosecute themselves for smugglibng guns into Mexico.
Any of you guys know what a "detachable clip" is?
I've never used or even seen one.
Ron Peterson filed suit over two weeks ago. He having his 43rd anniversary sale tomorrow.
Bagging a sweet 1952 S&W Pre-18 with diamond targets, put it on hold today.
I suppose all clips are detachable because you can remove them from the ammunition.
Got a guy over here named Travis that claimed he worked for Ron ..... Works a small shop here now. Lots of Schutzen an old colts etc....
Still over a hundred here. Supposed to cool down 3 days from now.... So they’ve been promising us for the last 90 days or so..
That wheelgun sounds nice....
Travis did work for Ron (favors single actions in S.D.Meyers rigs) I wondered where he got to. He’s a good guy.
I shall have to go tease him tomorrow..... I have a S.D Meyers made Tom Threepersons original design bought by my grandfather in El Paso looooong ago. Pre 1934 purchase I think as they moved up here from there in 1934.
I will ask Travis what he’ll gimme for it...... Then tell him you put me up to it. (just kiddin)
Stay safe !
