Buchanan says George W. Bush “broke the United States as a superpower.” Ping to Today show list.

If anything, Bush followed others and did too much of the same things.

After all, our policy of getting involved in wars and staying involved for decades has been going on since Korea.

True enough, Pat.

When a left-of-center ‘moderate’ (stands for nothing) backed up by a leftist Congress spending and degradation happens to a nation.

Truth be told, it was inevitable that the US would be broke as a superpower with its continued insistence to be the world’s policeman and mounting national debt. =.=

McCain and the Messiah broke the power of the United States. McCain by whining that he should get the nomination by virtue of his plane crashing the third time and helping elect the Messiah. With the Messiah it is pretty obvious what he is doing. His Lenninesque debauching of the currency; his trashing of our allies; his terrorizing of businesses here (ensuring continued economic decline); etc.

Maybe Buchanan hates Bush (43) because he perceives to be friendly toward the Jews.

George Bush is one of the worst Presidents in U.S. history--and that's saying plenty--just a notch above Bill Clinton, Warren Harding, Lyndon Johnson, and Rock-bottom Worst President Ever Jimmy "Peanut" Carter.

Rick Perry's got a lot to overcome--mainly his resemblance to George Bush.

Pat Buchanan has been “broke” as a political commentator long before George W Bush.

The only two good things in the eight years of Bush were Alito and Roberts. That’s all! His judgments were wrong about Iraq. No Child Left Behind was a failure. This is the trappings of “Compassionate conservatism”. Give me a Rick Perry any day who isn’t afraid to be a conservative and is consistant in his determination to live within our means. Another stupid Bushism is this mercury light bulb we are forced to buy soon. That bill was absolutely foolish. We don’t need conservative talkers who govern as libs. We need another Ronald Reagan who actually believes in limited government. I even like Ron Paul. He has his convictions and he stands by them. I’m sick of politicians who talk one way and govern the opposite way.

Buchanan, worried that Ron Paul has been getting too much of the “Republican Nut” attention lately.

Yeah, that Shock And Awe was really limp-wristed, wasn't it?

Say, can't recall seeing any other nation organize and execute anything like that since. Or before.

Nitwit.

I guess it's worth it to them to get someone with a name to slander President Bush.

The policy of dumping trillions into setting up Sharia states however, was new.

It wasnt just the war spending itself but the fact that war spending, especially when it becomes unpopular, is always followed by run-ups in other non-war spending (war and welfare) as a political sweetener. Bush certainly confirmed that rule with the blank check.
On talk radio there has been lots of ‘If only Bush just spent on the military but not on.....’ but it’s not realistic politically.

Then add the housing bubble run-up mistaken as a growing economy and Greenspan’s low interest rates to fund it all along with tax cuts and you got a bad situation which Obama runs with. This is how Rome fell and how Jame’s Dale Davidson predicted we would follow.

Interesting comments here - and I guess I “feel strongly both ways”

Bush was moderate to liberal in a lot of ways - leading to failure - which led to Obama. That is an awful legacy. But Pat B. is no classic conservative. He is an isolationist and pro labor in ways that keep him way outside a “Reagan” camp. And he loves attention.
