Many years ago when we were still making mortgage payments on our house the mortgage had been transferred by the previous mortgage holder to BOA, and why our payments were always made on time and were never late the bank had the audacity to raise the payments to more then double then what it was. We complained and they took it down again. Needless to say also is that we took a loan out with the bank we had at the time and paid the mortgage off 10 years sooner then it was due. We also paid the loan off. Now when i get a credit card offer from BOA it goes right through the shredder

Did you have an adjustable rate mortgage? Did they make an error in the adjustment? What excuse did they give to increase the payment?

I had a line of credit with BOA and when I got into financial trouble, about 2.5 years ago, I tried to take out some cash (my balance was only 50% of the limit) only to find that they had seen I was in trouble by my late payment to another, different bank, and had abruptly, without warning, lowered my limit to equal my balance. I was reeling because I had thought that money was there. It was a stern lessong for me on the difference between credit and a savings account. I am now paying them off at a rate 4 times the scheduled one, so that I can close that account and wash my hands of them forever. I also closed my savings & checking there and switched to Citibank which seems, at least so far, to be better.

As a second lieutenant in 1964 I started banking with Mational Bank of Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, TX. Fort Sam was started by a group of military officers many years before, and was very supportive of military members. They saw me through lost pay records, Vietnam and other overseas assignments with great service UNTIL they were bought by NationsBank, at which point their service became just like any other bank. I closed out mt accounts before BoA bought NationsBank, and never looked back.
