Living American dream illegally
Boston Herald ^ | 8/30/11 | Jessica Heslam

Obama Onyango lives in a modest, single-family home on a quiet, leafy street in Framingham.

He hosted popular backyard barbecues. His pale yellow house was always bustling with people.

And he’d pass the time on the front porch, adorned with a welcome mat and flower pots.

It almost sounds like the American Dream. A 2011 version of it, maybe. Because the 67-year-old Kenyan who happens to be President Obama’s uncle wasn’t supposed to be living here, let alone driving drunk here. He’s what some people call undocumented. What others call illegal.

Immigration authorities had been on the lookout for Onyango and found him last week after Framingham cops busted him on an operating under the influence charge. He’s currently locked up in Plymouth County Jail on an immigration warrant.

Court documents report Onyango’s eyes were bloodshot and glassy when the cops pulled him over last week, after he narrowly missed a police cruiser with his SUV. He reeked of alcohol. He slurred his speech and was wobbly on his feet. He failed three field sobriety tests and blew nearly double the legal limit.

“I think I will call the White House,” Onyango said when the cops offered him his one phone call.

Onyango’s arrest comes on the heels of a horrific drunken-driving accident in Milford, where an illegal alien is accused of dragging a young man to death.

Onyango’s sister is Zeituni Onyango, the president’s aunt who won asylum last year after reporters found her living — also as an illegal alien — on welfare in a South Boston public housing project.

At least the uncle had a job . . . even if he wasn’t legally entitled to one. Obama Onyango told police he worked at a local liquor store.

No one in the Onyango household was interested in talking about it yesterday. But neighbors were stunned to learn the president’s uncle was living among them, in their working-class neighborhood.

Jennifer Jimenez, 26, affectionately referred to him as the “old guy” while growing up.

“He’s just a normal guy. He’s always saying hi to us. He’s very nice,” Jimenez said. “He’s like the big guy of the house. He takes care of everybody.”

Longtime resident Roger Small said, “He’s cordial, neighborly. You see a lot of the neighborhood kids in their back yard.”

Yesterday, SUVs lined the driveway of Onyango’s home. A young man mowed the lawn, and a girl on the porch was staring intently at her laptop.

To think, this humble Framingham household is just one degree of separation from the White House. It looked exactly like a little slice of the American Dream . . . except for Onyango, it is illegal.

LIFE UNRAVELS: Obama Onyango, President Obama’s uncle, who lives at this house in Framingham, above, was arrested on a drunken-driving charge last week. Onyango is the brother of Zeituni Onyango of South Boston

President Obama’s uncle had Social Security ID

By Dave Wedge and Laurel Sweet/Boston Herald

President Obama’s accused drunken-driving uncle — who was busted after a near collision with a Framingham cop — has had a valid Social Security number for at least 19 years, despite being an illegal immigrant ordered to be deported back to Kenya, the Herald has learned.

The president’s 67-year-old uncle, Obama Onyango, has had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and Social Security number since at least 1992, said Registry of Motor Vehicles spokesman Michael Verseckes.

Onyango, whose sister, Zeituni Onyango, made headlines when it was revealed she was an illegal immigrant living in public housing in South Boston, was wobbly legged, “slurring” and had “red and glassy eyes” when he was pulled over at 7 p.m. Wednesday on Waverly Street in Framingham.

A marked cruiser pulled him over just past the Chicken Bone saloon, about a mile from Onyango’s single-family home. Onyango, the half-brother of the president’s father identified in some press accounts as “Uncle Omar,” initially denied drinking but admitted having “two beers” after police said they smelled booze on his breath, according to a police report.

“It was clear that he was moderately unsteady on his feet,” Framingham Officer Val Krishtal wrote.

Onyango’s white Mitsubishi SUV was pulled over after the vehicle made a sudden right turn in front of a cruiser at a stop sign, causing Krishtal to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision. Onyango blew a .14 on the Breathalyzer and continually interrupted the officer, the report states.

“(Onyango) spoke English well, albeit with a moderate accent. I detected what I believed to be some slurring as he spoke,” Krishtal wrote.

Onyango was ordered held without bail on a federal immigration warrant after his arraignment Thursday in Framingham District Court. Court papers show he was the subject of a previous deportation order. He was being held in the Plymouth House of Correction last night.

Mike Rogers, a spokesman for Cleveland immigration attorney Margaret Wong, who is representing Onyango, said he “wouldn’t know how” Onyango obtained a Social Security number. Wong is the same lawyer who represented the president’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, in her fight to win asylum last year. Reached at her apartment in a South Boston public housing complex yesterday, Zeituni Onyango said of her brother’s arrest: “Why don’t you go to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C., and ask your president? Not me.” She then hung up on a reporter.

The bust came just days after another illegal immigrant was charged with running down and killing a 23-year-old man in Milford.

Asked about the issue yesterday, Gov. Deval Patrick said: “You know my stance: Illegal is illegal. We need comprehensive immigration reform.”

Deville, I thought your stance was, "illigal immigration doesn't cause drunken driving."

*******

What a coincidence: Like the people who arrested the older Obama and wonder about his Social Security card, we also have a Social Security question concerning his nephew President Barack Obama: How did Hawaiian teenager Obama end up with a Social Security number in which the first 3 digits refer to Connecticut, when Hawaiin teenager Obama was living in Hawaii in the 1970s when he supposedly applied for his Social Security card?

Was it simply due to a clerical error as many pro-Obama supporters claim, because it is a fact that Social Security sometimes sends an applicant a Social Security number that refers to a state that is different from the state where the applicant originally applied for his card?

Does anyone know the man's Social Security number?

Does the number refer to Massachusetts where the man now lives, or does it refer to some other state?

Yeah, I wonder what "Harrison J. Bounel" would have to say.

How come this President wasn't vetted properly?
We all know what color Palin’s panties are but we didn't know Obama had illegal relatives here?
How many more are there?
I think the American people should get to work and vet this guy.
Find a classmate that is willing to talk about Obama, anything to prove he is a plant in this country. Look for more people named OBAMA and vet them out.

Find a classmate...I’ve often wondered & wished for someone from his past to come forward. Perhaps some day a Walter Winchell will appear.

I simply do not understand the ingratitude of the Massholes!

President Obama, if my B&W TV is still to be believed, has just saved all of us Norumbegans from a gruesome watery death by adroitly (and heroically) managing Hurricane Irene. Surely if George W. Bush were still our President, we would be now gurgling our last.

As far as the Obama relatives living here as illegal aliens goes, I think it odd that not a man jack of'em even speaks Spanish! The nerve of these Kenyans. At any rate, if the American voters were willing to accept a fellow as POTUS who has never really established his Constitutional bona fides, who are we to complain?

As far as Unc's fake papers and PDF BC's are concerned, this is no more than an Obama Family Tradition. The Gambinos and the Bulgers have Family Traditions, and by Harry, so do The Obamas!

Wasn't it Meg Whitman that got called out by the MSM for having an illegal working as a housekeeper? Too bad the media couldn't look into Obama and his relatives as closely as they did Whitman's housekeeper.

Yes I’d heard toward the end of Howie Carr’s show yesterday that the Globe finally did have to start covering it, admitting it. Yesterday afternoon I was kind of floored when I went to the CBS Boston website (CH 4, WBZ Radio, Sports Hub etc.) and they had a pic of Obama right on the main page with the huge text saying “Uncle Arrested?” And there was the article when you clinked it. On See B.S.!

Dan Rea on CBS Radio’s WBZ-AM was talking about it (no
surprise maybe because he’s on the right anyway). I’m sure
NPR/ lib talk radio, if they’re covering it at all, is
sighing “Oh, those silly birthers again!”

And how about this: Right now if you go to Yahoo and you see Trending Now, which I assume means most searched for items,
#1 is “Obama’s uncle”...

During the campaign stuff did come out like Bill Ayers and Rev Wright and Where’s the birth cert. and Where are his school records, and what has he done, only voted present, etc.
If you listened to conservative talk radio it was covered heavily. The subjects even came up on liberal voices but they were quickly dismissed. The fact is that the majority of people in the country wanted to make up for past errors in judgement by finally putting a black man in office—one who was articulate, clean, etc.

If a conservative had said that they would have probably been called racist. Joe Biden did, so it was OK.

Most people were charmed by him and many wanted a change after GBW. As I pointed out, “Change isn’t always for the better”. But yes, we didn’t know Obama had illegal relatives here...maybe mainstream media knew but didn’t tell us.

Find a classmate—where? So far nobody has stepped forward to talk about him.
McCain has been called a RINO but ask yourself: would we have been better off with President McCain and Vice President Palin right now? How much would the debt be? Would there be discussion of “McCain-care”?
How would the stock market be doing? Yes, maybe they would be screwing up immigration, too. But overall wouldn’t we have been better off? (”That’s OK, we’ll just let Obama
get in and screw up the country so bad that people will be clamoring for a Republican next time.”)

But maybe America will just give this guy another four years. Well I’m voting for change in 2012. Anyone but Obama.
