Everyone's terrified of Rick Perry: lefties, righties, and definitely those coyotes he says he executes while jogging. Politico's Ben Smith and Maggie Haberman report that Perry has done what up to this point President Obama could not: "wake up the left." Activists--involved in everything from the death penalty, women's rights, gun control, and campaign finance--are just cold freaking the heck out. "To the degree to which progressives are disaffected and unenthusiastic -- this is their 'holy sh**' moment," Jennifer Palmieri, head of the Center for American Project Action Fund, told Politico. It's funny because many conservatives -- not just the dreaded establishment! -- think it's their own 'holy sh**' moment too."...
ping-a-ling!
So now the latest attack on Perry is, don’t nominate him because you will wake up the sleeping left and they will be energized to re-elect Obama. Good strategy..... not!
No Panic among Border Criminals!
Certainly has a 1980 feel to it, though Perry is NO Reagan.
Even Reagan could not carry California today.
Instead of changing their policies, the Left has adopted the strategy in past decades of changing the voters, in order to have a voting base that is impervious to policy failure. Amnesty would be the finishing touch on that strategy.

(thanks Right Brother)
They should be afraid. Perry’s in his fourth term as governor of Texas, and has never lost an election in his life. He’s not perfect, but he’s clearly a dire threat to Barack Obama. And to a lot of the other Republican candidates, who are largely flawed themselves or lightweights by comparison.
Newsflash!! Conservatives have not been the "establishment" for decades.
While many on the right criticize Perry’s prior Democratic credentials - that could also be used to persuade current disaffected democrats that they too can “come to Jesus”.
Perry can empathize with the average Dem that he once, like them, believed the Dem Party was for middle class Americans and free market concepts.
He should stress that he came to the realization that he could no longer support the Dem Party in the direction it was headed and is both dismayed and appalled at the blatant anti-American, Marxist, socialist perversion that its leaders now represent.

“THEY WANT PERRY TO WIN” They also want Bachmann, Palin, Santorum, and a few others to win. In fact the only ones that might keep them asleep are Romney and the Chinese ambassador guy (darn this old age memory thing).
Yeah, we better nominate Mitt so everyone can stay asleep.
The quote you post does not say that they were. Read it again.
The article does raise one interesting point. Perry tells the truth about SS. Are Americans willing to hear the truth? From what I’ve seen on FR, I’d say the answer is an unequivocal “no.”
I am a libertarian leaning conservative. I can vote for Perry especially over RinoRom. Is he everything I want? No but combined with an ever more conservative house it will work.
SCOTUS appointments are not worth holding out for my perfect candidate.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
Rick Perry has run for a political office 10 times and has won all 10. He has never lost.
Allot of people have gone to the political graveyard by underestimating Rick Perry. Its too soon for me to rally around any one candidate, but if Perry is the nominee, Obama without a doubt has to be gravely concerned that he will be number 11.
Wait, are you saying that Rick is his middle name? Oh no, just like Joe the Plumber (aka Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher) he’s obviously trying to pull one over on us. We can’t vote for him now...
It gets worse...his first name is James.
He's a J.R. ...from Texas...
No kidding. I overheard a group of older, upper middle class Jewish people in a restaurant last night talking about how “scary” Rick Perry was. There is obviously no thinking going on - too many people just absorb and repeat the media’s DNC talking points.
Seniors may revolt, and they’re a big voting bloc. So Perry has to be careful.
The WW2 Generation was great in many ways, but, by and large, they have been selfish old geezers.
Jimmy Carter and Rick Perry both have the same first name, James.
Jimmy Carter was once attacked by a giant killer rabbit.
Rick Perry's dog was once attacked by a giant killer coyote.
See the pattern?
We can't vote for Perry, he's just another Carter!
Leftists are really shaken that Perry was once one of them but got wise. They fear that could happen to other sheep in the flock. There is loser despair in their internet posts.
SS has gone to hell since we exported American jobs that paid into SS. Imported labor pays no SS. Putting 25+ million back paying into SS would sure put a dent in the SS problem.
So are most of their children and grandchildren. In fact, we ALL have to be careful about wanting to use government to give ourselves and people we care about other people’s money.
But it would be interesting if they brought up the following questions for ALL presidential candidates to discuss:
1. What is your opinion of one-world-government?
2. What is your opinion of Islam’s rapid spread in our society?
3. Will you allow the establishment of sharia law in any form?
4. What is you opinion of global warming?
5. Will you repeal Obamacare?
6. Now that we are broke, are you going to continue sending aid to third world countries?
True...but he perhaps best captures that same sentiment and the same potential group of voters Reagan did back in ‘80.
Post #9. Great pic. I will be using that in the future. Many, many times. Thanks for posting. A thousand times thanks.
Now THAT sounds like something a certain Governor of California would have said.
I for one just love it. For once we will pick our own, thank you.
Where is she going?
Question for you about your libertarian leaning. I used to say I was more libertarian than Republican until I read what they stand for on their own web site. My question is, do you know what they want/stand for?
From their own site they stand for: Abortion on demand, gay marriage, legalization of all drugs, legalization of prostitution, and open borders. The only thing I found that I agreed with them on was their gun rights stance and wanting smaller government. The rest of their ideas are just the same crap liberals want.
Since I learned exactly what they stand for I have determined that I am a Republican and a strong conservative one.
His last name is two syllables too . . . J.R. Ewing - J.R. Perry . . . it can’t be a coincidence. :)
Let’s make a pact.
Instead of remaining silent, when we hear crap like that, butt in and say “why?”
It might be slightly rude, but if a bunch of us do it, we could either explain the truth, or at least understand the stupidity.
My wife, however, who is as conservative as me, typically attempts to keep my mouth shut for purposes of maintaining the peace.
They should be afraid. Perrys in his fourth term as governor of Texas, and has never lost an election in his life. Hes not perfect, but hes clearly a dire threat to Barack Obama. And to a lot of the other Republican candidates, who are largely flawed themselves or lightweights by comparison. The competition is going to fade into the sunset. Pawlenty saved himself a lot of trouble by getting out early.
Perry can win this but has to tread lightly. Explain unequivocally that nobody is taking anything away from them, rather, trying to ensure that their grandchildren, too, have something.
No, Americans (present party excluded) are not ready to hear the truth. They would rather watch ESPN or “Pawn Stars” and not think about such unpleasant things.
I was talking to friend at work and suggested that he might want to buy some firearms and start building a food supply because you never know if you might need them some day in the event of a natural disaster or something. Anyhow, he assured me that everything was gonna be fine and laughed that I was a “conspiracy theorist”.
I really love that guy, but there’s just no helping some people. I wonder what all these people are going to do if the dollar becomes Zimbabwean tender and the “gubmint” cheese runs out?
And Mitt wants us to know it! :o)
Barack Obama's not going to be asked any hard questions, so we may as well draw a sharp contrast for the viewers.
He is so has been, it is becoming boring. Reminds me of the AT&T commercial, were someone got the message late and makes a fool of themselves. That fits the media and MITT to a T, we are already on to something else now. heehee
While many on the right criticize Perrys prior Democratic credentials - that could also be used to persuade current disaffected democrats that they too can come to Jesus. You too can have a Zell Miller moment.Perry can empathize with the average Dem that he once, like them, believed the Dem Party was for middle class Americans and free market concepts.
