Senate jam: DeMint also vows to block Obama speech
POLITICO ^ | August 31, 2011 | JONATHAN ALLEN

Sen. Jim DeMint vowed Wednesday to try to block President Barack Obama from addressing a joint session of Congress on the same day as a Republican presidential debate next week.

Obama could learn something from the GOP, DeMint reasoned, in adding his voice — and his vote — to a growing chorus of Republican objections.

“The president should pick another night. I’m planning to watch the Republican primary debate … and the president should watch it, too,”

The iconic South Carolina conservative said. “If he has a jobs proposal, put it in writing, give us a cost estimate, and send it over. I want to read the bill, not listen to talking points off a TelePrompter. If he insists on playing politics by picking the night of the GOP debate, I will object to the session.”

This President is so weak at this point, only John McLame would support him. I fully expect McLame to start bashing Boehner and DeMint for not letting King Barry hold court by tomorrow.

Why does it have to be an address to the joint session of Congress anyway? Why doesn’t he just give the speech from the WH?

Because the Obozo wants to make a campaign speech in a forum where he'll get applause from the brain-dead dems. He wants to look presidential by having congress sitting at his feet while he blathers on about his "jobs" plan, with Bite Me popping up to cheerlead the applause every few seconds. Plus, nobody listens to his teleprompter cr*p from the WH anymore.

Duh-bama should watch the debate and see from whom the next President will be chosen. It'll only make his impending defeat easier to swallow.

In most mass movements throughout history, the people are divided roughly into 30% groupings. 30% strongly support, 30% strongly oppose, and 30% don’t care.

Oh, if we could only get 30% of those who are supposedly for America to stand up against the leftists like DeMint has done, we might have a fighting chance of saving our republic.

WH aides and Boehner aides are meeting now

I hate that the "aids" are running the country. No one elected them, and we don't even know who they are.

Can't Obama and Boehner just pick up the phone and do the work themselves?

Obama will have to give his campaign speech the next night. What is he going to argue - the NFL is important but the American democratic process is not?

Why doesn’t he just give the speech from the WH?”

Because no one would listen. At least this way he is assured of some kind of an audience. I think he should just post it on the internet and then go vacation in Vermont.

Do you really want to put "Obama" and "work" in the same sentence? It's like putting mustard on ice cream.

FUBO.

Recall when we heard the “You lie” line at a joint session of Congress, it’s because BrackBrack WAS lying and smearing his critics.

He can go pound sand and pay for his OWN political advertising broadcasts.

Barack Obama himself is attempting “block speech” by counterprogramming the GOP Presidential Debate.

Free speech for “me” but not for “thee”.

Screw this tinpot dictator.
