Kyle Swenson (reporter) needs to avoid comedy. Uh..yeah. I seriously doubt that L'il Miss had an FTL and the proper paperwork to own a Thompson.
Even still, the JBT had no legal authority to enter her apartment. A lot of detail missing from this story...as usual.

There’s no indication it’s full-auto at all.

If the entire collection was worth $15K, then there is no way the Thompson is full-auto.
More likely just a semi-auto.

Uh..yeah. I seriously doubt that L'il Miss had an FTL and the proper paperwork to own a Thompson. I really doubt she needed it, as the Thompson was almost assuredly a post-war semi-auto replica firearm. A real class III Thompson is worth more than the total dollar amount that they gave for the collection.
So she had a semi-auto .45 carbine, not a submachine gun.

Uh..yeah. I seriously doubt that L'il Miss had an FTL and the proper paperwork to own a Thompson. There are semi-auto replicas of the Thompson for sale, which is probably what she had.

I know vets who own full auto weapons. If you have the money and patience it’s not hard to get them if you live in a state where it’s legal.
I call BS though, because the whole collection was valued at $15,000. A single full auto would be that much alone.

There is no reason to doubt that. It is not like the paper work is all that hard to do. Now the COST of the firearm is another matter. I doubt it was Class III for that reason.

"Uh..yeah. I seriously doubt that L'il Miss had an FTL and the proper paperwork to own a Thompson."Why? It is completely legal to own, not particularly expensive to obtain the "permit" to exercise your God-given right (a part of the problem), and the M1928 or M1A1 is not particularly expensive (about $7000), compared to more modern fully-automatic weapons. I know women who own fully-automatic weapons, one of whom owns an M2. My completely legal MAC-10 cost only $3900 with a suppressor (also completely legal). Your assertion is silly.

"Uh..yeah. I seriously doubt that L'il Miss had an FTL and the proper paperwork to own a Thompson." I believe that there is a semi-auto version of the Thompson avalable.
Of course, if you expect ACCURACY of coverage of firearms by the media, you're being overly optimistic. Remember...ALL firearms are lethal street-sweeper full auto sniper rifels to them.

Never make the assumption that she doesn’t have the paperwork. I know quite a few females that own more legal NFA than most men. I know one that spent tens of thousands of dollars in NFA transfer taxes in one year on her hobby.

Uh..yeah. I seriously doubt that L'il Miss had an FTL and the proper paperwork to own a Thompson. Perhaps you might want to check up on the laws.
A full-auto Thompson qualifies as a Curio and Relic. You only need a C&R license to get one shipped directly to your house. The license is cheap as well. Check this link for details of the C&R program as well as a list of eligible C&R weapons.

What's an FTL?
There are more semi auto Thompsons on the market than full auto I bet.
