Democratic strategist James Carville on Thursday called the White House “out of bounds” for requesting that the president address Congress during the same night as next week’s Republican presidential debate.
“I do think this is a really big debate and I think the White House was out of bounds…in trying to schedule a speech during a debate,” Carville said on “Good Morning America”.
The president originally asked to present his jobs plan on the evening of Sept. 7, the same night and time as the Republican presidential debate hosted by NBC and POLITICO. The scheduling broke down into a partisan showdown, with the president ultimately agreeing to speak instead on Sept. 8.
Carville said the debate, the first to feature Texas Gov. Rick Perry, will be a “barn burner.”
Doesn’t really matter to me what night Obozo speaks. Won’t listen to him anyway. But will follow the live comments on FR.

"Just go out and just document it, it’s not so much that the speech is important George, it’s the follow up after the speech,” he said. “And this is going to have to be what they are going to run the 2012 campaign on…this congress is not going to pass anything that the president proposes, that is pretty clear.”

Now Obama will be up against the NFL kickoff game for the new season. What will people watch — football or 0bama? Can’t wait to see the ratings.
Zero breaks all protocol in scheduling this worthless speech, and then uses his press to ridicule those who disagree. His entire presidency has been one of blistering the American people while making fun of them.
I think he should have gone further and said this is not a reason for a president to be addressing a joint session of congress.
He’s been one of the few Dems with the guts to oppose Obamacorp, just google Carville + Obama he has not been complimentary at all.
Someone on TV said either way Obama loses as either his staff are moronic enough to not realize there was a debate at the same exact time or it was purposeful and they thought this would raise Obama’s poll numbers.It was both.I predict Obama will change it again to not compete with football.When is dancing with the stars premiere;? the idiot will change it to that night next. The truth is, no one wants to hear him lie any more.
As others here in FR have said, I worry about the contents of the speech. Why does he want a joint session of congress? Is he going to announce something very big? Something regulatory, beyond congress’ ability to stop.

I think he wants a captive audience unable to do anything while he criticizes and insults them (the Republican side).
