Black Unemployment: Highest In 27 Years ["Hope and Change" Was Slogan For Idiots!]

Black Unemployment: Highest In 27 Years

By Annalyn Censky September 2, 2011

The unemployment rate for blacks surged to 16.7% in August, its highest rate since 1984, the Labor Department reported Friday.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The August jobs report was dismal for plenty of reasons, but perhaps most striking was the picture it painted of racial inequality in the job market.

Black unemployment surged to 16.7% in August, its highest level since 1984, while the unemployment rate for whites fell slightly to 8%, the Labor Department reported.

"This month's numbers continue to bear out that longstanding pattern that minorities have a much more challenging time getting jobs," said Bill Rodgers, chief economist with the Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University.

Black unemployment has been roughly double that of whites since the government started tracking the figures in 1972.

Economists blame a variety of factors. The black workforce is younger than the white workforce, lower numbers of blacks get a college degree and many live in areas of the country that were harder hit by the recession -- all things that could lead to a higher unemployment rate. But even excluding those factors, blacks still are hit with higher joblessness.

Blacks are beginning to remind me of that one dysfunctional family member that messes everything up for everyone, but for some reason, no one does anything about because of fear of having to be confrontational towards a dysfunctional person.

“..Algernon Austin, director of the Race, Ethnicity, and the Economy program at the Economic Policy Institute. “So I do think the fact of racial discrimination in the labor market continues to play a role..”

Oh I see. But dropping out of school after 6th grade, getting tatoo’s all over your body, sporting Jamaican style hair while holding up your pants when going for an interview and smiling to show your gold lined teeth, all those should set you up to get a great Management job, right Algernon? Oh, I forgot to mention the attitude, sorry. Oh, I forgot to mention the police record, sorry. Oh, I forgot to mention the drug use, sorry. Oh, I forgot to mention all the illegitimate kids, sorry.

There is no racial discrimination today, there is only those who can and those who think they’re entitled to what the others have achieved.

You make some good points - and even the black mayor of Philly recognized just that dynamic recently. We need more of that!

You left out “ Keynesianism,” you know, “Change.” As in “Change is coming to America ! “

I’m not sure what their definition is for the word “Hope.” I guess I’ll have to read The Washington Post to find out.

Of course it is.

Walter Williams has spent years showing that the black family was in much better shape under “Jim Crow,” that blacks were far less involved in crime under “Jim Crow,” that black people were far more likely to be employed under “Jim Crow,” that black people had a superior culture under “Jim Crow,” that black people had made more rapid economic progress under “Jim Crow.”

Why were black people so much more successful - outside of the political realm - under Jim Crow than under Barack Hussein Obama? It is because back then black people looked up to Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver who were Christian conservatives.

Booker T. Washington believed that black people should focus on entrepreneuralism and building a strong moral character. It was his arch enemy W.E.B. DuBois who preached the destructive philosophy of racial chauvinism and black empowerment.

Thanks to Martin Luther King, Jr. who the MSM transformed into a demigod, the W.E.B. DuBois philosophy of radical leftism (DuBois later converted to communism and moved to Ghana) triumphed over Booker T. Washington’s philosophy of racial reconciliation and entrepreneuralism.

I grew up near Tuskegee, AL. Booker T. Washington is buried there. He must be rolling in his grave at what Tuskegee has become under generations of failed black leadership by frauds and hustlers like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Tuskegee was one of the few cities in America where blacks and whites had actually created a workable living arrangement.

Sometimes I ride around Alabama and I see schools named after Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver. I often find myself wondering what Alabama would be like in the 21st century if the stupidity of the 1960s hadn’t destroyed civilization here.

The radical leftism of the 1960s has lowered the quality of our culture for both races. We have cell phones and computers, but we are morally and culturally inferior to our great-grandfathers.

There weren’t nearly as many black people in prison back then. The government didn’t squander nearly as much money on inefficient uses of taxpayer dollars like the criminal justice system.

Rap music didn’t exist back then. Thugs were not glorified by the media. Black people respected their elders. Black people didn’t give their children stupid ghetto names.

Now, look at them: they live in LBJ’s Great Society in the projects, they are enslaved to Obama’s EBT card, their communities are infested by drugs and violence, there is a black guy in the White House who gives Wall Street a $1.2 trillion dollar bailout.

If I was black, I would be furious. I would be as mad as Cornel West at Barack Hussein Obama and the Congressional Black Caucus.

It’s not the fault of White people. The White people of this country have invested more money and energy trying to help black people over the past fifty years than we put into putting a man on the moon or winning the Second World War.

Who is responsible for creating these unrealistic explanations? Who is responsible for the tragedy that Black America now finds itself in?

Martin Luther King, Jr. and W.E.B. DuBois are responsible. They are the ones who set Black America on this course. It was MLK and DuBois who said that “black power” (Malcolm X had the same message) would solve all the problems of black people.

“Black Power” didn’t work in Haiti, in Ethiopia, in Detroit, in New Orleans, in Zimbabwe, in Congo ... it has never worked anywhere!

The only thing that has ever worked for black people is Christianity and conservatism and common sense ... which is epitomized in Booker T. Washington and George Washington Carver and all the good they were able to do for black people when they were the role models.

You are not but I am and on both! Yet the media is curiously silent on the destruction of the cultural and social ecosystems that used to support black people...D.P. Moynihan was right but people poo-pooed his report and it has come to pass with tragic clarity all over the world. Liberalism (aka socialism) is an ideology of death and violence but people are too vain and selfish to acknowledge it...

Every year, Charlie Brown would trust Lucy to hold the football while he tried to kick it. And every year, she would pull the football away at the last second and poor Charlie Brown would go flying up in the air and land on his backside.

Charlie Brown never seemed to figure it out.

Fact A: Many of them don't want to work.

Fact B: Many of them are hard to work with.

Fact C: Many Employers have learned facts A and B the hard way.

My apologies and extreme sympathy to blacks that do want to work, and are great to work with.

It’s not just the black family; every type of family has suffered since the Great Depression.
