Rick Perry Leads While Voters Want Sarah Palin on the Sidelines
Sunshine State News ^ | September 3, 2011 | Kevin Derby

Posted on 09/03/2011 7:24:40 AM PDT by AAABEST

A Fox News Poll unveiled late Thursday revealed that Gov. Rick Perry of Texas held a solid lead over former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts in the race for the Republican presidential nomination.

(snip)

When other candidates -- including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani -- were added to the mix, Perry remained in the lead. Both Palin and Giuliani have left the door open to running for the Republican presidential nomination.

Perry led that scenario with 26 percent followed by Romney with 18 percent. Palin took third with 8 percent followed by Paul with 7 percent.

(snip)

When Fox News looked at all voters, they found very little support for a possible Palin presidential campaign. Palin will be stumping in Iowa, which holds the first caucus, and New Hampshire, home of the first presidential primary, over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

Only 20 percent of all voters wanted Palin to run for the White House while 74 percent opposed the idea -- and the voters who wanted her staying out of the contest included a large part of her base.

A mere 25 percent of Republicans backed a Palin presidential candidacy while 71 percent were lined up against it. Even among voters who considered themselves part of the tea party movement, Palin flopped. Only 28 percent of the tea party voters supported Palin entering the race while 66 percent opposed it.

What a joke! You don’t know anything about Palin if you are comparing her to Fred Thompson....she isn’t lazy and her run for the governorship is AK had her go into the outer regions looking for a vote- just this past month during the Iowa fair she was out there for 9 hours meeting and greeting people and talking to the press

The real title should be, “Rick Perry Leads While Voters on the Sidelines Want Sarah Palin”

And what evidence do you have to support this? Governor Palin's polling is downright awful now and, increasingly, it seems clear that even large majorities of Republicans don't want her to run at all. Outside of her core group of supporters, where is there any evidence a great percentage of of even conservatives want her to run?

Sarah Palin is Fred Thompson in a skirt....

This metaphor works very well for me. As an early supporter of Fred Thompson in the 2008 campaign, he became a somewhat expensive disappointment to me. I wish Sarah would either get in or forget it.

even large majorities of Republicans don't want her to run at all.

Consider the source of the polling. Why would a corrupt machine want someone with a record of cleaning up corruption to run? Of course they don't want her to run. But the real people, on the other hand...

You should really watch "The Undefeated" -- with an open mind. She really does have a record of taking on the corrupt bastards.

It's just my opinion -- I don't want to get into it with you. We'll see soon enough, won't we?

“Do you imagine that Rick Perry and Sarah Palin don’t know each other? If so your are completely wrong! They do!

John Fund got this EXACTLY right yesterday!”

Delusional. She is going to slam crony capitalists (ie-Rick Perry and friends) in her Indianola speech and then turn around and endorse him?!

She spent her whole career in Alaska from the Mayor’s office to the Oil and Gas Commission to the Governor’s office fighting(and defeating) the kind of cronyism that Rick Perry embodies. He might be fit to be Teas governor, although if she knew then what she knows now, she probably would not have endorsed him. She will NEVER endorse this guy in the GOP primary.

LOL!!! Now, because they post a poll that shows Sarah lacking sufficient support to make her run reasonable, Fox News, the target of leftist ire for a decade and a half, is suddenly part of the MSM.

Now that's funny!

Perry and Romney are working together. They’re ideological twins with intermingled campaigns. Any attacks on each other are pure show.

All who support “CRONY CAPITALISM”, please raise your hand!

You have excellent candidates who have a great track record for SUCKING UP TO and REWARDING BIG DONORS!

If you don’t like CRONY CAPITALISM but you’d rather just say you want to ignore it, than just say so!

Irritating isn’t it?

Observe the relationship between the MSM parrots - perched out of reach in the upper right - and those they see as being beneath them; those whom the MSM believes they should decide what the truth is.

Evidently such an elite perch made it difficult to read and comprehend the writing on those yellow flags - the first time We came town...

And evidently it hasn't been irritating enough to toss the MSM along with the Salad...

...when...

"I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any mo... errr, uhhh... Say, who won American Idol and Dancing with the Stars tonight -- between commercials for Viagra, Sleeping Pills, and Grecian Formula?"

...seems to be the scripted reality playing out, thus far.

I like the way that Fox News Channel is now part of the MSM and filled with "establishment" people, because they dared to poll and then relate how the people feel about Sarah Palin. LOL!!

You think a little self-deception is at play?

Can you say "cult of personality?" LOL!

“Sarah can decide on her own, why establishment and Fox news loons are forcing their own opinion on independent citizen.”

Nothing represents the GOP establishment better than Fox News: all RINO/all neocon ... all the time.

Perry and Romney are two finger-puppets of Karl Rove.

RINOs all.

It is the time of America and not CRONY CAPITALISM.
