A coach full of English Defence League supporters was pelted with missiles after it broke down in east London.
The coach was carrying 44 EDL members when it stopped in Mile End Road, Tower Hamlets.
About 100 Asian teenagers then pelted it with bricks and stones, according to a BBC reporter at the scene.

Put up for information - if it is the wrong spot, can a mod please move it. Thanks.
Tell me more.
Looks like from the article that the EDL is protesting islamic extremism in the UK. I can certainly agree with that.
What are they doing that you don’t like. Never heard of them before.
Or is that one of those neighborhoods where any non-"Asian" is likely to receive a similar greeting?
"Asians," my @$$. They were low-life Muslims.
It sounds like the English Defence League was primarily set up as a politically correct organization to gain members but are no different from soccer hooligans.
Sounds as though the Asians are from South and Southwest Asia.
Yes, sorry about that - I do tend to forget we are two countries divided by a common language!
Asians here is usually taken to mean anyone from Bangladesh eastwards, including the entire Indian subcontinent.
Most likely not arabs. There are not many arabs in the uk. Most likely pakistani
I have it on authority that it was a militant violent Amish Cult behind this violence.
I have no problems with the EDL, no one else is standing up for their nation.
No, it only sounds that way if you don’t research things in depth.
Thank God that no “Asian” group was attacked with bricks. That would racist. So in England now, while ethnic English cower in a bus while being attacked by non-English immigrants: the press can’t call it racism, they can’t charge out of the bus and kick ass, the police don’t quickly intervene, and other Englishmen don’t rally to help. Say goodbye to the memory - because that’s all it is now - of England. You remember, the country that, “...will fight in the streets, fight in the hedgerows...”
Bangladesh eastwards would not include India or Pakistan.
Americans use ‘Asian’ as a euphemism for ‘Oriental’ while Brits use ‘Asian’ as a euphemism for ‘non-Arab Muslim’. I suppose that a Uighur would be covered by both?
I’m sympathetic to the EDL...as an outsider..are your reasons too personal to disclose?
Are u a Brit minority?
It’s sad to us how PC Britain now is..worse even than here.
But you guys are still fairly homogeneous compared to us.
You’re still 85-87% what most would term Caucasian.
Only 3 percent black.
5-6% SubContinent Asians
the rest from everywhere
just think if you guys had our demographics...whew
you guys have a large white underclass...something we have but either it’s smaller or less noisy
used to be what we called rednecks or white trash..now many are “wiggers”..there is no other word...isn’t that sorta like “chav” to you..isn’t it?...or not? I honestly don’t know
resident NW London...Tottenham court road..1986
would appear London town has changed since then a bit
as a southerner here in the states from mostly Anglo-Saxon background..and proud of it..I flew your St George after the recent troubles from my portico..still flying as we speak
God bless....your nation has had a more positive impact on the world long term than any other...they brought civilization and the ability to self govern for better or worse more than anyone
folks forget that
Not quite - it's the term in general use to describe anybody, of any religion or none, who originates from the Indian sub-Continent. Thus the many British Hindus, Sikhs etc are all described as 'Asian'.
The EDL are far right, with links to neo-nazi groups.
Many of their leaders and followers were or are soccer hooligans, and have convictions for violence and racial hatred (inc blacks and Jews).
Islamic extremism may be a problem, but the EDL arent the answer.
Istanbul does straddle Europe and Asia.
No one else over there is standing up. What does that say about the rest of the English?
