Asians here is usually taken to mean anyone from Bangladesh eastwards, including the entire Indian subcontinent.

Thank God that no “Asian” group was attacked with bricks. That would racist. So in England now, while ethnic English cower in a bus while being attacked by non-English immigrants: the press can’t call it racism, they can’t charge out of the bus and kick ass, the police don’t quickly intervene, and other Englishmen don’t rally to help. Say goodbye to the memory - because that’s all it is now - of England. You remember, the country that, “...will fight in the streets, fight in the hedgerows...”

Americans use ‘Asian’ as a euphemism for ‘Oriental’ while Brits use ‘Asian’ as a euphemism for ‘non-Arab Muslim’. I suppose that a Uighur would be covered by both?
