(CNN) - Republican Sen. Jim DeMint said Sunday he wants a jobs plan in writing from President Barack Obama, not just another speech.
"I am so tired of his speeches, it's going to be hard for me to watch," DeMint said on CNN's "State of the Union."
A written proposal from the president would enable Congress to decipher the cost and the American people and businesses to weigh the plan, said the South Carolina Republican who is a favorite of tea party conservatives.
"Without sending something in writing, the president makes all of these grand gestures, and then it doesn't appear in any legislation, and then he will blame Congress for not passing something he never sends over," DeMint told CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley.

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Obama reminds me of something Jimmy Durante said many years ago. “Say it with Diamonds or say it with Mink, but never say it with ink”.
Gotta love DeMint!!
All the Senator has to do is capture a video of the teleprompter.
It's hard for all of us, Jim.
Christiane Amanpour kept trying to present him as the “official spokesan” for the TEA Party. That was annoying, but he didn't buy into her story.
He said that he wanted to see something in writing, with enough details that the CBO could tell us what it will cost and what the benefits might be.
Knowing The Won and his teleprompter(s), that will never, ever happen.
Expect more of the same from the teleprompter(s) on Thursday. Everything is Bush's fault, we need to spend more on infrastructure.
Here's what I expect.
Again, Obama could just write his plan down on a used Happy Meal bag and stick it to the Oval Office window so people can walk by and say, ‘Yeah, same old krap, but no banana!’
Watching him simply makes one want to puke.
DumBO has lowered the expectations so much on this speech, that, he might as well not give it. Boehner should withdraw the invitation as a monumental waste of time.
De Mint really needs to be our minority leader in the Senate.
Obama’s only “plan” is to make the Republicans look like obstructionists. He doesn’t give a carthorse’s crap about the employment situation.
Here I'll correct it.
De Mint really needs to be our
minority majority leader in the Senate.
It's a campaign speech and a complete waste of network's time, the American People's time and even Congress's time.
Secure in his belief that he is the greatest orator of his generation he never tires of giving them. His narcissism and addiction to TOTUS and television is so transparent.
I truly wish we had 2 Jim Demint’s as senators here in Georgia...
AMEN!!! SHOW US YOUR PLAN!!!!!! NOW!! NO MORE SPEECHES!!
"Speeches are a waste of time. Show us your plan in writing".
The Independents who always clamor for "specifics" would eat it up.
I wonder what it would sound like if he read his speeches backwards as is seen in the photo. We all know what ‘yes we can’ sounds like backwards!
