DeMint to Obama: Deliver in writing

(CNN) - Republican Sen. Jim DeMint said Sunday he wants a jobs plan in writing from President Barack Obama, not just another speech.

"I am so tired of his speeches, it's going to be hard for me to watch," DeMint said on CNN's "State of the Union."

A written proposal from the president would enable Congress to decipher the cost and the American people and businesses to weigh the plan, said the South Carolina Republican who is a favorite of tea party conservatives.

"Without sending something in writing, the president makes all of these grand gestures, and then it doesn't appear in any legislation, and then he will blame Congress for not passing something he never sends over," DeMint told CNN Chief Political Correspondent Candy Crowley.

I saw DeMint on "This Week" on the local Disney (ABC) affiliate. He made similar comments there.

Christiane Amanpour kept trying to present him as the “official spokesan” for the TEA Party. That was annoying, but he didn't buy into her story.

He said that he wanted to see something in writing, with enough details that the CBO could tell us what it will cost and what the benefits might be.

Knowing The Won and his teleprompter(s), that will never, ever happen.

Expect more of the same from the teleprompter(s) on Thursday. Everything is Bush's fault, we need to spend more on infrastructure.

If the entire GOP would get on the same page with this, it would be very effective.
