Romney appearance at Tea Party rally draws protest

CONCORD, N.H. -- More than 25 protesters turned out before a Tea Party Express rally this evening to protest not President Obama, but Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

“We do not need leadership that puts their finger up, sees which way the wind’s blowing and then all of a sudden changes their mind and goes back in that direction,” Tim Carter, a leader of the Lakes Region Tea Party in New Hampshire. “If you look at Mitt’s past voting record, I think that’s what you’re going to see.”

“When you come to less government, which the Tea Party stands for, how could you possibly explain that with Romneycare?” Carter said. “It doesn’t even compute. “

The FreedomWorks rally was held before the larger Tea Party Express rally, where Romney was scheduled to speak. FreedomWorks had been active with the Tea Party Express, but pulled its staff member off the Express bus to protest Romney’s inclusion in today’s event. After holding the anti-Romney rally, it urged participants to join the Express event, held in the same place.

Republicans like Romney are exactly why the movement started.

The media desperately wants Romney to be the McCain of 2012.

I believe (and I think they fear it) that a genuine conservative with the guts to challenge the media can beat Obama. But they know that conservatives will not vote for another McCain, making Romney very beatable if the media ass kissing Republican elite can get him on the ticket.

--------------------------

Spot on ChildOfThe60s.

Mitt's 'I was for it but now I'm against it' RomneyCare is a millstone around his neck, it's made him unelectable.

He'll change his policies at any given moment depending on who is listening. Just too fake, plastic and untrustworthy.

Please choose a better nominee. This guy is a phony.

Mitt Romney

Romneycare = Obamacare which = Big Government
Big Government = End of liberty = End of America
Repeal Obamacare
Repeal Romneycare

Who said Romney was a “Republican”?

He’s more of a Republican than Perry who was an actual Democrat. Funny how even though Romney has been working his tail off the last 6 years espousing Pub causes and backing both monetarily and time-wise Pub candidates all over the U.S., Pubs think Perry is the mecca, when it was he who was actually a Democrat until fairly recently, who is an open borders RINO just like George Bush was on this subject, and who has been a crony capitalist. So you jump all over Romney as wishy washy, when Perry’s past is as an actual Democrat and RINO. What’s the difference in attacking Romney on his past but not Perry? Could it be that Romney is a Mormon and Perry is an evangelical?
